CAF INSPECTION UPDATE: INDEPENDENCE STADIUM IMPRESSES INSPECTOR

A CAF inspector has reportedly expressed satisfaction with the current state of The Gambia’s Independence Stadium following a recent inspection.

According to GamFoot Transfers, the positive assessment has raised hopes that the stadium could soon regain approval to host international football matches. However, the inspection does not mean the stadium has been officially approved yet.

The final decision remains with CAF, and the stadium must receive an official verdict before The Gambia can confidently host competitive international fixtures at home.

For now, Gambian football fans will have to wait for CAF’s final decision, with hopes high for a positive outcome.

UDP RAISES CONCERNS OVER ACCESS TO KAIRABA CONFERENCE CENTRE

The United Democratic Party (UDP) says it has repeatedly been refused permission to use the Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara International Conference Centre for its activities.

The party claims it first sought to use the venue for a national retreat and later for its 30th anniversary celebration, but was turned down on different grounds. The UDP has questioned the fairness of the situation, especially after the ruling NPP held an event at the same centre.

The party is calling on relevant institutions to ensure equal access to public facilities and media platforms for all political parties ahead of the 2026 presidential election.
