*THE SOLUTIONISTS: POSITION ON EC’S NOMINATION DECISION*

Dear SoSHSA Students and The Solutionists Loyalists,

It is with great dismay that we acknowledge the Electoral Commission’s recent decision to reject the candidacy of our Presidential Candidate, Mr. Abubacarr Darboe. While we fully respect the EC’s authority to accept or reject nominations, we find it unconstitutional, misleading and unacceptable to have our Presidential Candidate’s nomination rejected on such vague and unfounded grounds.

In light of this, we have sought legal advice and, after careful consideration, have decided to challenge the EC’s unfair and erroneous decision before the University of The Gambia Students Union Judicial Tribunal.

While we adhere to due process, the leadership wishes to inform its patrons that the remaining candidates will be actively engaging with students through the class-to-class campaign. We strongly encourage all students to unite and rally behind the team during this challenging period, as your support is crucial in overcoming these obstacles and achieving success together.

We humbly request the support, patience, and understanding of our esteemed supporters during this period as we pursue legal remedy.

Thank you.

Few days away from University of The Gambia Students' Union Politics, the focus is now on SosHSA and SSA. At SoSHSA Candidates from both UTG Solutionist 2020/ 2021 and Team Panacea are giving out their declaration of candidacy. The atmosphere is crazy as students start controlling WhatsApp groups even though the dust of SU politics has not disappeared.

Good luck to all!

22nd Executive Council of University of The Gambia Students' Union held second Congress today at Law Faculty, Auditorium. The Activities Report, Financial Report, Audited Financial Report and Activities Report of Legislative Body were read by Secretary General, Finance Minister, Auditor General and Clerk of LB respectively. It was a great occasion were students hold their students leaders accountable.

When the Auditor General read his performance report of Council Members, the hall was filled with noise and talks because some council members didn’t perform up to expectation and this has raised questions about the quality of leadership elected. The President, Vice and Justice Minister were rated Fairly Good, SG and Auditor were rated Excellent and the rest of the Council members rated Very Good.

It was a peaceful congress!

Recently, in the School of Business and Public Administration (SBPA) at the University of The Gambia, a new group has emerged under the name “SBPA Elites and Democrats.” This has raised significant concerns and questions among students, especially given that the only officially recognized political parties within the school have been Salvation and Team Competence.

The appearance of this new faction has led to much speculation and curiosity, as the individuals behind the group have not made their identities clear, nor have they provided any official explanation of their purpose. As a result, students are left wondering whether this is the beginning of a new political movement within the school or if these individuals belong to an already established but less visible group.

Many students are raising concerns, asking who these people are and what their objectives might be. Are they a new political party in the making, or are they a faction of existing groups that is trying to establish a new identity? The lack of transparency has only added to the growing suspicion that there may be multiple, unidentified groups operating within the school, potentially creating division or confusion among students.

The questions remain unanswered, and this situation has created an air of uncertainty around the future political landscape of the SBPA. What is clear, however, is that students are seeking clarity and transparency about the intentions of the SBPA Elites and Democrats, hoping to understand whether their actions align with the interests and values of the broader student body. Until further information is provided, the identity and purpose of this group remain a topic of debate and concern. We are also getting rumors about another team but the name is not known.
