President Adama Barrow Bids Farewell to ECOMIG Contingent

His Excellency President Adama Barrow has bid farewell to the Senegalese ECOMIG contingent at the State House in Banjul, following the completion of their term in The Gambia.

President Barrow presented certificates to the departing officers in recognition of their service and expressed heartfelt gratitude for their dedication. He acknowledged their crucial role in maintaining peace and stability in the country and commended them for their professionalism during their tenure.

The President thanked ECOWAS and his Senegalese counterpart President Bassirou Diomaye Faye for his steadfast efforts in strengthening Senegalo-Gambian relationships.

The Commanding Officer of the State Guards battalion Colonel Abdoulie Bah also expressed appreciation for the contingent’s service and wished outgoing troops well in their next endeavours.The Truth TV

Breaking News: Residents in Bijilo have apprehended a boy who allegedly attempted to sexually assault a seven-year-old girl in the neighbourhood.

Eyewitness said the boy, who is also a minor, allegedly lured the girl into an unfinished house, where he is said to have attempted to sexually assault her.

“I was in the shop when I heard the small girl screaming. When I approached, I saw a boy trying to adjust his trousers, and he asked me to forgive him,” an eyewitness said. “I told him that we should go back to the house where the scene happened,” referring to the house where he had heard the girl screaming.

The eyewitness added that the boy allegedly attempted to escape and, in the process, injured him. “He scratched my face and wounded me because he wanted to escape,” the source added.

The suspect has since been escorted to Brusubi Police Station and is currently in detention.The Truth TV.

SJAG Presents Certificate of Appreciation to Minister for Information

BANJUL – Four executive members of the Sports Journalists Association of The Gambia (SJAG) have formally recognised the contributions of the Honourable Minister for Information, Media and Broadcasting Services, Dr. Ismaila Ceesay, following the conclusion of the 8th AIPS Africa Congress.

Led by SJAG President Mr. Omar Jarju, the delegation presented a certificate of appreciation to the Minister and Permanent Secretary Ms. Cordu L Jabang, during a meeting held at the Ministry’s headquarters. The award was given in recognition of the Minister’s steadfast support and the Ministry's role in ensuring the successful hosting of the continental assembly, which brought together sports journalists and administrators from across Africa to The Smiling Coast.

The 8th AIPS Africa Congress represented a significant milestone for the country, marking the first time the event has been hosted on Gambian soil. President Omar Jarju expressed the association’s gratitude, noting that the Ministry's collaboration was instrumental in managing the logistics and communication requirements of such a high-profile international gathering.

For his part, Minister Ceesay reiterated The Gambia's commitment to strengthen sports journalism and harness digital platforms to enhance communication and information dissemination. He thanked the Association for the recognition and also acknowledged the work of his technical team led by the Permanent Secretary Jabang.The Truth TV
