The Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy, in collaboration with AUB and the Radio and Television Services (GRTS), recently organized a training program on Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Gambian journalists.
The training aimed to equip media professionals with essential knowledge and skills on the use of AI in modern journalism. With the rapid growth of digital technologies, AI has become an important tool in news gathering, content creation, and fact-checking. The initiative was therefore designed to help journalists understand both the opportunities and challenges associated with AI.
During the training, participants were introduced to various AI tools and applications relevant to the media industry. Sessions covered topics such as detecting misinformation and fake news, ethical considerations in AI usage, and how AI can enhance newsroom efficiency. Facilitators also emphasized the importance of responsible journalism in the digital age.
