JARRA CENTRAL SHINES IN LRR ZONAL CHAMPIONSHIP OPENING GAME

Jarra Central District claimed a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Kiang West District in the opening match of the 1st edition of the LRR Zonal Championship at Soma Mini Stadium on Sunday, 23rd November 2025. The lone goal, scored by Ismaila Sarr in the 72nd minute from the penalty spot, proved decisive in a tightly contested encounter.

The match saw both teams showcasing their skills in a balanced first half, with neither side able to break the deadlock. The intensity heightened in the second half, and a pivotal moment arrived when substitute Ebrima Sanneh was fouled in the box, earning Jarra Central a penalty. Ismaila Sarr stepped up with composure, converting the spot-kick to send the Jarra Central supporters into jubilation.

Kiang West pushed for an equalizer but Jarra Central’s defense held firm to secure the win. The victory sets Jarra Central up for a strong start in the tournament, while Kiang West will look to regroup in their next fixture.

The event was attended by notable dignitaries, including Chairman of Mansakonko Area Council, Landing B. Sanneh, Lamin Sanneh of OIC and a delegation, Mr. Seedy Fadera, Managing Director of EK Company Ltd, Alieu Baldeh, NAM for Jarra West, and a host of invited guests. Black D-Horse FA Clinch Jarra West District Prof Dr Sidat Yaffa Knockout Trophy

Black D-Horse FA emerged victorious in the final of the Prof Dr Sidat Yaffa Knockout tournament, edging out Misera FC 1-0 at Soma Mini Stadium on Saturday 22nd November 2025.

The lone goal, scored by Kawsu Fadera in the 41st minute, sealed the win for Black D-Horse FA in a tightly contested match.

The atmosphere at the stadium was electric, with fans from both teams displaying vibrant support as the two finalists clashed in the decisive match. The game was a showcase of skill, determination, and tactical play, but it was Black D-Horse FA’s clinical strike that proved decisive.

Kawsu Fadera’s goal came from a well-worked attack, as he tucked the ball into the net from close range, sending the Black D-Horse FA supporters into jubilation. Despite Misera FC’s efforts to equalize in the second half the orange boys were able to hold on to the 1-0 scoreline.

The final was graced by the main sponsor, Prof Dr Sidat Yaffa, and witnessed by Major Talib Ahmad Bensouda and his team from the United Movement for Change.

Black D-Horse FA, the knockout champions, received D40,000 and a giant trophy, while Misera FC walked away with a consolation prize of D30,000. Individual awards were also presented: Karamo Danso (Black D-Horse) was named Best Player of the tournament, Bubacarr Susso (Black D-Horse) won the Golden Boot with 18 goals, and Sheriffo Demba (Black D-Horse) was awarded Best Goalkeeper.

The Jarra West District Football Committee hosted a dinner in honor of the league and knockout finalists of the ongoing Jarra West League and knockout competition at Domordima Restaurant, located along the Banjul Highway, today. The event was aimed at building excitement and proper buildup ahead of the highly anticipated Prof Dr Sidat Yaffa knockout final, scheduled to take place on November 22nd, 2025.

During the dinner, the committee presented both finalists of the Knockout with a cash prize of D10,000, a brand new set of jerseys, two footballs, and shocks to each of the teams. This generous gesture is a testament to the committee's commitment to promoting football development in the district.

The event brought together key stakeholders, committee members, team officials, and the media, fostering a spirit of sportsmanship and friendly competition. The knockout final promises to be an electrifying encounter, and the committee's efforts are expected to contribute to a memorable event.

Pakalinding UBS organize Marathon for Its Staff.

Pakalinding Upper Basic School on Saturday 15th November 2025 organized a five kilometers Marathon Race for the School Staff as part of promotion Athletics at the school and also creating awareness on the importance of sports in schools. The head of the sport department Mr. Mustapha Sallah emphasized on the importance of sports as a strong pillar in everyone’s health. He said “as teachers we need to be fit and strong in other to deliver well in the classroom.”

The sport department therefore wish to inform the public that their annual inter house championship is scheduled on the 6th of December 2025 and invitation is open to the public.

The most anticipated 1st Edition of the LRR Zonal championship is set to commence soon. The exciting zonal competition will comprise of all six districts in the region aimed to forster unity and nurturing young talents of the region through collaborative efforts on a strong footing of mutual trust among the six district nawettan centers.

In view of this magnificent ideas, the competition department of LRRFA today conducted club management meeting with representatives from the six nawettan centers.

The meeting was fruitful and by extension provided an opportunity for the various districts to meet face to face with the organizing committee to discuss the upcoming zonal competition matters which includes

1. Submission of registration list

2. Discussion and adoption of competition rules and regulations.

3. Balloting of district teams into two groups of three

4. Qualification of players for the competition and many more issues regarding the competition which clarification were made for members understanding.

The date for commencement of the tournament shall be known public in coming weeks.
