Honorable Kemo Bojang send an important write up urging Gambians not to fall for the lame interview that was aired yesterday. It was nothing but a carefully staged ploy to distract us all from the realities on the ground. No government in the history of The Gambia has ever faced the level of backlash and rejection that President Barrow and his administration are currently experiencing. The youths must remain focused on what truly matters, on the pressing issues at hand, and get the job done instead of being carried away by his attempts at storytelling.
Forget about him claiming to be the best maths student, forget about him talking endlessly about his father’s horse, or even his remarks about his father’s looks. Forget about the story of his mother being born on a Friday. These are all irrelevant distractions, designed to shift attention away from the genuine upheaval and growing discontent his government is facing.
The reality is, this administration has failed to deliver on its promises, it has betrayed the hopes of the Gambian people, and it stands at the edge of a political storm that it cannot escape. The attempt to humanize himself through shallow anecdotes cannot erase the hardship, the corruption, the incompetence, and the anger that defines his leadership. What awaits him and his government is accountability and the full weight of the people’s verdict.

BUBACARR .M KANTEH, THE YOUTH WING SECRETARY EXPRESS HIS CONDEMNATION OF PRESIDENT BARROW’s INTERFERENCE IN FORCEFULLY REMOVING THE AUDITOR GENERAL FROM HIS OFFICE
I strongly condemn the interference of president Barrow in the removal of the Auditor General of the Gambia, Mr Modou Ceesay from office on the 15th September 2025. In my view such an action undermines the principles of transparency, accountability, and good governance, which are essential pillars of our democratic institutions more especially the democracy we are nurturing.
The Auditor General’s office serves as a vital independent body tasked with safeguarding public resources and ensuring proper financial management. Any attempt to unlawfully or forcibly remove its head not only threatens institutional independence but also raises deep concerns about interference, abuse of power, and the erosion of democratic norms.
I call on the authorities to respect due process, uphold the rule of law, and guarantee the independence of oversight institutions. The protection of these offices is critical for strengthening democracy, fostering public trust, and ensuring that governance remains accountable to the people.
I further urge all stakeholders' civil society, political actors, and the international community to stand firm against actions that weaken our democratic institutions and to demand the immediate reversal of this unlawful interference.

As we close the U20 Mayors Summit in Johannesburg today, I reflect on a powerful truth: Cities multilateralism is the cornerstone of effective multilevel governance.
Our discussions here have reinforced that direct access to finance isn't just urgent—it's imperative for achieving our urban priorities.
It was an honor to participate in the consolidation of our communique alongside the Minister of Local Government of South, representing the President. Our shared commitment to economic opportunities, climate resilience, social inclusion, and digital transformation will shape the future of our cities.
Johannesburg has shown us that when cities unite, we don't just speak, we drive global change. The partnerships forged here will accelerate Banjul's progress and elevate the African urban agenda. Onward to action!
I once again thank the city of Johannesburg and Tshuwa e for the hospitality and a well organized summit.

LAWYER OUSAINOU DARBOE STATEMENT AS PARTY FLAGBEARER
After an orderly conduct of the selection process, Lawyer Ousainou ANM Darboe delivered a speech, upon being declared the winner of the United Democratic Party (UDP) flag bearer selection.
However, these words are the key advice from his message which stated the trend of the party struggled and other important context of his leadership and together with his colleagues.
1. Acknowledgment of Party Support and Resilience
ANM Darboe thanked all the UDP members for their unwavering support, and said today as you select your party flagbearer for 2026, I am the lucky person, it not like am the only one who can lead the party but you have confidence in me, I thank you all, he reiterated highlighting the party's endurance resistance, despite prolonged persecution. He referenced on the efforts of deputy party leader Aji Mariam Secka, Amadou Sanneh, he is a member of UDP 1996, Femi Peters, Adama Jallow, Fatou Secka Second, Aji Jambanding Drammeh, these are the people who injected the strength of the UDP's status as the largest opposition party and today many people want the party Alhamdulilah thank god but who so ever want this party, you must comply with the party democratic principles. .

He emphasizes that the UDP is one family (Cabilar Kiling) so let us not destroyed this family union, lets hold each other together as one united family, to be unique and powerful. he reiterated that this is the only strategy that can bring progress and development within the family, so let respect each other, Boro Suso, Femi peters, Amadou Sanneh and other respected each other very well before the 2016.
