A team of three officials from the Office of the Executive Governor of Abia State survived an armed attack in the early hours of December 2. The team was on official duty to Sam Mbakwe Airport in Imo State when they came under fire from unidentified gunmen.

The incident happened along the Umuowa–Ihite axis, a short distance before the Sam Mbakwe Airport Junction. According to the Office of the Governor, the gunmen attacked the vehicle conveying the advance team, but the officials managed to escape without loss of life.

What this means is that the Governor’s convoy was never part of the attack, and there is no cause for public alarm. The clarification became necessary after news of the incident began circulating online, raising concerns about the Governor’s safety.

Chief Press Secretary Ctz. Ukoha Njoku Ukoha confirmed the incident in a statement released on Tuesday. He noted that while the attack was unfortunate, all three team members are safe and investigations are expected to follow.

The Abia State Government urged the public to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified reports.

He claims President Bola Ahmed Tinubu quietly told Defence Minister Mohammed Badaru Abubakar to step aside so that former Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, can take over.
Sowore even said the minister didn’t resign on his own he was pushed out. My brothers and sisters, imagine that!

Badaru Abubakar, Defence Minister, Resigns

Nigeria’s defence minister, Alhaji Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has resigned his appointment, with immediate effect.

In a letter dated December 1, sent to President Bola Tinubu, Abubakar said he was quitting on health grounds.

President Tinubu has accepted the resignation and thanked Abubakar for his services to the nation.

President Tinubu will likely inform the Senate of Badaru’s successor later this week.

Badaru Abubakar, 63, was a two-term governor of Jigawa state from 2015 to 2023. He was appointed as a minister on August 21, 2023, by President Tinubu.

His resignation comes amid President Tinubu’s declaration of a national security emergency, with plans to elaborate on its scope in due course.

Tinubu has ordered the WITHDRAWAL of police officers guiding VIPs . Police will no longer be moving and providing security to rich men in the country .

Henceforth, police authorities will deploy them to concentrate on their core police duties . The security issues in remote areas are way too much and Police officers won’t be in town providing security to VIPs . VIPs who want police protection will now request well-armed personnel from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.

But for now ? All police officers will focus on their primary duties of protecting the common man .

Moral lesson : I think this is perfect , it was becoming too much . Everyone with money had police moving with them .
