The Gambian government plans to construct 200,000 affordable houses over the next ten years, starting with 10,000 by December 2025.
Minister Hamat Bah highlighted efforts to secure international funding support and set up a housing mortgage bank. He also addressed ongoing investigations and plans to resolve issues with encroached reserved lands.
Responding to questions from National Assembly Members, Bah stated, "We want to build affordable houses for Gambians. We have requested 200,000 houses in the next 10 years. We are starting with 10,000 houses by December 2025," emphasizing the government's commitment to tackling the housing crisis.
