Moro LG Youths Questioned Governor's Decisions, as Monarch Upgrades Sideline Jebba & Shao Despite Court Judgment.
The youths of Moro Local Government Area of Kwara State have expressed strong dissatisfaction over the recent upgrading of traditional rulers by Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, alleging that their monarchs were unfairly sidelined.
According to news gathered by Kwara Eaglet NG, the youths specifically condemned the exclusion of the Oba of Jebba Land, Oba Abdulkadir Adebara, and the Ohoro of Shao, Oba Job Obalowu Atolagbe, from the list of rulers elevated to first-class status.
Speaking through their spokesperson, Prince Adebara Jebba described the development as unjust, noting that while several traditional rulers in Kwara South and parts of Kwara North were upgraded, Moro LGA was overlooked despite what they claim is an existing court judgment supporting the elevation of their monarchs.
He furtherly expressed frustration, accusing political leaders of neglecting the area after benefiting from their electoral support. “They know how to come to the town during campaigns to brainwash us to vote, but they didn’t elevate our Obas,” he said.
However, the youths called on the state government to urgently review the decision and ensure that the affected traditional rulers receive due recognition in the interest of fairness, justice, and equity.
Here is my view:
The fulani in ILORIN want to frustrate YORUBA ỌBA who refuse to bow to EMIR, they need to be brought to book. Many people have spoken about it, a Governor can be impeached for doing such in a country where rule of law works.
I am happy ALAAFIN VISITED them YORUBA ỌBA who have been neglected in KWARA as many of us have been raising our voices on this issue. This is a positive move by ALAAFIN ỌWỌADE ẸLẸWU ẸTU I. This is what we need our ỌBA to be doing because one ỌBA cannot do all the works, everyone should make positive impact by working towards progress and development.
