Its a cool & slightly stormy morning here at sea.
In sailing and in life; we sometimes cannot avoid the storms, but rather gear up, prepare and face them gracefully head on.

Wearing a denim skirt and tank top is perfect attire for navigating Italian port authorities and polizia (to register our arrival), but no self respecting fashionista would dare walk the marbled Piazza della Republicca in such a manor.
So this girl does what she always does when she walks the streets of Italy or Paris; she buys a new outfit. And yes, i had to get the copper shoes
And now lunch at a local favorite gourmand fourno (oven) & then a glass of Marsala w**e, because I’m in Marsala Sicily.

FIRST - I AM WELL.
I have been in the middle of the deep blue sea between Spain and Italy for 48+ hours; no service, no internet, no calls, no text.
We are continuing to sail to Sicily & will be off grid more.

I’ve missed calls, texts, messages and world news; but I didn’t miss out on all this.

I’ll post again when I’m online.

It’s a stormy day and another incredible tour of this beautiful island. We delayed our departure due to the storm, but are planning to set sail tomorrow and head to Sardinia.

Safely moored at the marina.
Now to do some laundry, go grocery shopping and then explore a little.
Safe harbors are not permanent destinations; they are places to rest, recover, repair and prepare to go again.

There was a gentle zen mutiny on board the vessel this morning.
You see, it was decided by our lead captain that we will leave early this morning and sail over 72 hours straight and head towards our next destination; Sardinia. There are strong winds coming in the next few days & the idea is to avoid them.
Sweet Yulia, the zen negotiator pleaded the case that we should sail to Mallorca this evening and wait out the winds there. I then added a little Greek mom guilt to seal the mutiny deal.
“Captain, it’s about the journey, not the destination. Tomorrow isn’t promised, none of us have been to Ibiza or Mallorca; what if we never get the chance to do so in the future.”
I am pleased to inform that this gentle zen mutiny was resolved without plank walks or bloodshed, and we are mooring at a marina in Mallorca for a few days. Woohoo.

This is my version of a sustainable life.

A life where I am my own boss & can live and work anywhere.
A life filled with time and freedom.
A life where I work part time.
A life where I invest in me.
A life I’ve downsized in order to upsize.
A life where I can pursue dreams and goals.
A life where I can take care of my health (eat clean real food, ride my bike, swim in the sea, workout with my trainer & practice yoga)
A life full of Voltas (outings & drives with friends).
A life where I eat lunch and take afternoon naps regularly with my beloved family.
A life full of travel & adventure.
A simple life.

This life I created was not random, not luck, not an accident - it was intentionally created. And I’m so incredibly grateful.
