On Tuesday I hit my 50th chapter and I’m so very grateful for my family, my friends (new, old and my day ones). I knew that turning 50 had to be a big deal for me as I rarely do anything for my birthday so I wanted as part of my year of 5 to do something to celebrate it. Besides it’s been nearly 20yrs since I had a proper holiday so this was way way way overdue!!

I had the most amazing start to my birthday month and lead up to my birthday with my big sisters , and Paulette with a stunning trip to Rhodes. I needed to press reset and that is exactly what I did. I took a notebook with me just in case I needed to write down any ideas… it didn’t come out of my bag once!!! We had THE most amazing time ♥️♥️ My tan line is next level 😆

These are the moments that leave an lasting imprint 🥰 and the next stage to my birthday celebrations is going to see Jill Scott Wednesday night. I’ve seen her perform before so I know she’s going to be 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Thank you to everyone that has sent me messages and voice notes over the past couple days. Our flight (I turned 50 in the sky) got in after 2 and I stepped in my yard just after 4am so I’m floating on empty, so will get around to responding in a day or two. 🙏🏾

For someone that really doesn’t like having their photo taken, this is really big for me. The opportunity to be featured in the business edition of the The Voice Media Group magazine has come at a time where I need to start shouting out more about the work I do not just with but also as an entrepreneur and engaging on socials more than just in my ‘stories’ is something I’ve really neglected since my exhibition last summer.

Over the coming weeks I have lots to share, exciting news to shout about and some behind the scenes images.

So whilst people may know who you are and speak about you in private and public spaces, you have to also share more of the great work you do so they know even more.

Anyone that knows me will know that I really really dislike having my photograph taken. It makes me feel really uncomfortable, I don’t know how to fix myself and I rarely like the photos. Regardless of what anyone says you have to feel comfortable and confident in how you see yourself.

Earlier in January had an amazing offer to take headshots and I thought ok why not, Tianna is amazing and I really love her work. I’m sure she’ll tell you how fussy I was (I was urghhing at all of them… not how she took the photo but how I saw myself). This one however was the only one I was ‘ok I quite like this one’🤦🏾‍♀️

So this is my new profile pic, I’ll add it to my now favourite 3 photos that I’ve used over the years and will regurgitate them all! No judgement allowed! 👍🏾😆

My inspiration behind is my youngest son. I can see how much he’s grown since I first designed them a few years ago.

My niece Olivia is almost a teenager now so no pics of her with her but I know she still uses it 💖

I originally created the character when I appeared on back in 2019 and I love that I created something that could grow with your child and use them to tell stories all year round 💖♥️🥰

So much more to come…

This has to be one of my favourite makes of this year. Don’t get me wrong I love EVERYTHING I do and my ideas are forever evolving. Whether it’s a personal branding project or through Feed My Creative CIC I’m always striving to be innovative in my practices and create more as this aids my own professional development as well as new ways to work with people.

I have new projects pending just need to do some more planning and experiments so watch my spaces for updates.

Grand Rising to my followers ✨🌦 one of the important things in life is story tellling, our lives are a story that every day is new chapter. It’s important to pass these stories on so that we don’t forget ✨

Janet is always trying out something different and working on new ideas and will be showcasing one of them with us on the 25th.
