We are delighted to share that H.E. Mr Manzoor Nadir, Hon’ble Speaker of the National Assembly of Guyana held discussions with Hon’ble Speaker Shri Om Birla earlier today on the sidelines of the Commonwealth Presiding Officers Conference in New Delhi.

We greatly value this longstanding partnership between the Parliament of India and the National Assembly of Guyana, as we celebrate 60 years of establishment of diplomatic relations between our two countries linked by shared history and deep people to people ties.

Hon’ble Speaker’s visit to India would further strengthen our expanding partnership in areas of mutual interest.

The following persons are invited on Date: Friday, January 16 at 9:00 hrs. to 14:00 hrs to uplift their Certificate of Title.
Location: Regional Housing Office, Takuba Lodge Compound, Anna Regina.

Please bring a valid ID and all original receipts. Note that any outstanding balances must be paid in full before your Certificate of Title can be issued.

Makar Sankranti is a prominent festival in Bhaarat/India that is observed in variety of ways in different States across the country. Principally, a harvest festival centering in many ways on the worship of Soorya Naarayana.

The festivities of the occasion across the States carry different nomenclatures and methods of celebration. In Tamil Naidu it’s Pongal; Uttarayan in Gujarat; Magh Bihu/Bhogali Bihu in Assam; Lohri/Maghi in Punjab/Haryana/Himachal; and Poush Sankranti in West Bengal.

Some of the festivities include kite flying, bonfires, special feasts and spiritual baths.

THMG extends Makar Sankranti greetings to everyone who is celebrating the ancient tradition.
