T&T Limited’s ‘Re-Energize TnT’, is a renewable energy programme, which aims to engage youth to build a greater awareness and deeper understanding of the value of renewable energy and the role it can play in the energy transition. By working with schools, Re-Energize TnT is establishing a cadre of youth energy advocates who are trained and equipped to be champions of energy efficiency and renewable technologies. The Heritage Education Resource Opportunity (HERO) is a scholarship programme that supports top-performing SEA students within its fenceline communities in their educational pursuits during their secondary and tertiary careers. The President of Guyana, Irfaan Ali, hopes for Guyanese youth to become “active participants in their country’s growth and prosperity" and one such way is the Agriculture and Innovation Entrepreneurship Programme (AIEP). The AIEP gives agriculture graduates training in climate-agri methods along with fundamental marketing and business skills. The energy sector has also generously collaborated to support this programme, with US $4.5m investment, showing its shared commitment to the nation's progress. Meet Shergaun Roserier. At just 24, he is a mechanical engineer with Microsoft, runs Orbtronics which teaches stem courses to juniors and was also a nominee for the Commonwealth Youth Awards 2023.
Shergaun blends theory and a practical approach, to build skillsets that foster critical thinking and to equip youth with the tools for problem solving.
