Can you imagine what it must have felt like to perform your original song next to the Worl’ Boss and he reacts like this?? 🥹

Congratulations to these 4 artists, who not only got to perform on one of the largest shows in the country next to one of the biggest artists in the world, but will also have the opportunity to collaborate with him on a song!

And thank you to Vybzkartel and President Irfaan Ali for this initiative and delivering on the promise.

The selected artists represent diverse styles within the local music scene. Carlvin Burnett, already known as the reigning Dancehall Monarch and former Soca Monarch, brings years of performance experience to the collaboration. Stehigh, whose distinctive sound has been building momentum locally, now faces the prospect of international exposure. Mattick Queen and Gaby Melville Queen round out the quartet, each bringing unique elements that caught Kartel’s attention during the intensive audition process.

The Genesis Independence weekend came to an end in the wee hours this morning after a massive performance from trending Jamaican artist, Malie Donn, who brought the curtains down to the star-studded Kabisa Kool out beach show!

Patrons packed the beach and evidently enjoyed the wrap on the weekend of events.

The Comet Has Landed! Last night belonged to the Dancehall King! Vybzkartel absolutely demolished Magnum Baderation with a mind-blowing 2+ hours performance of nonstop hits that had the rammed venue losing their collective minds from start to finish.

Spice, Yung Bredda, ISHAWNA, Rvssian, Mafi, Carlvin Burnett, cKush, Mattick Queen and many other talented acts also graced the stage, putting on one of the greatest shows of all time in Guyana.

The Genesis Independence Weekend 2025 hit its stride in spectacular fashion last night at El Dorado Stingingnettles, where an electrifying lineup of artists delivered performances that exceeded expectations.

The all-inclusive El Dorado rum experience was packed to capacity, with patrons embracing the concept wholeheartedly and savouring every moment of what proved to be an unforgettable evening.

The Miss Guyana Culture Queen 2025 contestants officially received their delegate sashes yesterday at the highly anticipated "Brunch in Paradise" event held at Scotty's Smoke House. During the ceremony, the seven finalists drew their competition numbers, determining the order in which they will compete on coronation night at the National Cultural Center on June 21st.

Following the traditional number draw, the competition lineup was set as follows:

Contestant #1 - Nikeesha Baksh (Paradise, ECD)
Contestant #2 - Donelle Harvey (Tuschen)
Contestant #3 - Akeisha Dalton (Land of Canaan)
Contestant #4 - Destiny Etienne (Linden)
Contestant #5 - Kelis Johnson (Linden)
Contestant #6 - Arinna Williams (Kwebana)
Contestant #7 - Shadiamond Assanah (Melanie)

The contestants now have approximately six weeks to prepare for the coronation night at the National Cultural Center.

One of these seven delegates will follow in the footsteps of Shemina Peroune (2023) and Shequana Holder (2024) as Guyana aims for an unprecedented third consecutive victory at the Miss Caribbean Culture Queen Pageant in Nevis!

Fresh off her Road March triumph, Guyana’s “soca princess” Omaiah Hall just flipped the script on typical artist promotions with a first-of-its-kind karaoke competition centered entirely around her hit song “Breakway” – and SoHo was PACKED!

“The support was tremendous,” Omaiah admitted, clearly blown away by the turnout. “I didn’t expect so many people to come out to the event.”
