📚 Hong Kong Ranks 6th Worldwide In Mathematics And Computational Problem Solving In New PISA Rankings 📊

🎙️ "The latest PISA results are out, comparing the performance of more than 760,000 15-year-old students across 91 countries and economies.

Hong Kong performed well across the four core subjects, ranking 6th in mathematics and computational problem solving, 15th in reading and 17th in science. In mathematics, 21% of Hong Kong students were top performers, compared with just 8% across OECD countries.

However, scores in the three traditional PISA subjects were lower than in 2022, falling by 19 points in mathematics, 20 in reading and 25 in science.

East Asian economies continue to dominate the upper end of the rankings, including China’s B-S-J-Z region, which represents Beijing, Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang, as well as Singapore, Macao, Chinese Taipei, Japan and Korea.

PISA has also confirmed that it will move from a three-year to a four-year cycle, meaning the next assessment will take place in 2029, with reading as the main focus."

👟 BABYMONSTER Heads To Hong Kong For APEE Collaboration Event This Sunday 🎤

🎙️ "Fresh from two nights at The Venetian Arena in Macau this weekend, K-pop girl group BABYMONSTER will head straight to Hong Kong on September 13 for the opening event of their streetwear collaboration with APEE, a Japanese streetwear line by A Bathing Ape.

Launched this summer, the capsule collaboration pairs BABYMONSTER’s playful style with APEE’s streetwear aesthetic. The location and timing of Sunday’s event have yet to be announced.

Hong Kong fans will also see them again soon, with their world tour currently set to wrap up at AsiaWorld-Arena on January 9, 2027, the final stop listed on the official tour schedule."

Comedy fans, this one’s for you! As announced by Clockenflap, Trevor Noah is coming to Hong Kong for a stand-up show at MacPherson Stadium on October 26 as part of his Asia Tour 2026.

The Emmy Award-winning comedian and former host of The Daily Show is known for his sharp observational humour and sold-out shows around the world. He has also hosted the Grammy Awards six years in a row and released 12 comedy specials.

Tickets start from HK$688, with presale opening September 9.

Are there wrestling fans here? Former WWE superstar and Royal Rumble winner Alberto Del Rio is set to perform this weekend in Hong Kong, as HKWF will stage EL GRITO at Tsim Sha Tsui Community Hall on Saturday.

The lineup includes, besides Alberto "El Patrón" Del Rio, Ricky Marvin, Super Crazy, El Oriental, Soberbia Negra and Quetza, alongside the full HKWF roster.

🥉 Hong Kong Wins Bronze At Pickleball World Cup 2026 In Vietnam 🏆

Hong Kong has secured bronze in the Open Division at the Pickleball World Cup 2026 in Da Nang, Vietnam, after beating Japan in the third-place match. The Open Division is the tournament’s main team competition.

The team features Wong Hong Kit, Lam Chun Hei, Lee Chun Wai and Lam Siu Fai, alongside Tang Nok Yiu, Lam Ying Suet, Ng Cindy Lai Ping and Fan Pui Long. Wong Hong Kit serves as team captain and head coach.

🏃 One of the city's biggest annual running events, the iconic Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon, will return on 17 January 2027.

Last year’s edition featured more than 74,000 participants across four categories, and the 2027 edition will be even bigger with 78,000 runners expected.

🐉 Lee Tung Avenue Is Lighting Up For Mid-Autumn Festival 🏮

Mid-Autumn Festival is around the corner, and festive decorations have already returned to Lee Tung Avenue. More than 800 red and palace lanterns now light the 200-metre avenue from 5pm daily and will remain in place until 19 October.

On 25 September, the 18-metre LED fire dragon returns, setting off from Central Piazza at 8:30pm with an LED lion, drum performances and smoke effects before ending at around 9:15pm.

Other festivities include the WeekCommune market, Mini Palace Lantern Workshops and a Mid-Autumn concert later this month.

🎙️ "It’s a busy week for ice cream fans in Hong Kong, and this latest drop comes with caviar.

Messina and Nomad Caviar have teamed up at Pottinger Street until 7 September for two savoury gelato creations, each topped with premium Ossetra caviar and a golden crunch.

The Black Gold combines sour cream and roasted potato gelato, while The Olivier is made with olive oil gelato.

Prices start at HK$128 for one scoop, with two scoops available for an extra HK$15 and three for HK$25. Diners can also add an extra 4g of caviar for HK$50.

🍦 Dairy Queen Won't Only Open In Kwun Tong But Also A Causeway Bay Flagship With Four Stores For Q4 2026 🏙️

🎙️ "As announced earlier, Dairy Queen is opening a new store in Kwun Tong this November, but the brand has now confirmed that a flagship location in Causeway Bay will also open during the same period.

The two stores will form part of a wider Q4 2026 rollout, with four Dairy Queen locations planned across Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, the New Territories and outlying islands. The other two locations have not yet been revealed.

The Causeway Bay flagship will introduce the brand’s signature Blizzard, alongside cones, milkshakes, parfaits and ice cream cakes, with the menu set to be introduced over time. Ready for the DQ mania?"
