We’re delighted to share that two recent releases have received highly complimentary reviews from MusicWeb International; a highly respected classical review site.
On Baroque+Forth: “ Hayk Melikyan skilfully weaves a fluid but subtle web of broken chords around Handel’s lovely melody while a change of register and resonant deep bass notes for the da capo bring a wonderfully rich texture” and “he impresses with his fine lines, balance of voicing and intensity in what is for the most part quite a serious recital”.
And on Chopin in Vienna: “this is a very attractive recital from her [ Natalia Rehling ] exciting, dramatic and virtuosic La ci darem variations to some tastefully judged rubato in the mazurkas”.
With many thanks to Jonathan Woolf and the MusicWeb team for these thoughtful reviews.

Tonight brings one of the year’s rare celestial events: a Blue Micromoon.
Despite its name, the moon won’t appear blue—“blue” simply marks the second full moon within a calendar month. This particular full moon will also appear smaller than usual, as it reaches apogee, its most distant point from Earth.
To accompany this quiet, distant glow, we invite you to listen to Lacus Temporis (“Lake of Time”) from Jordan Nobles' Selene Suite, beautifully performed by Carl Petersson . A fitting soundscape for a night that reflects both distance and stillness. Listen on your preferred platform via the link in the comments.

Happy release day to Meg Sterling and !
“A new recording by flautist Megan Sterling and pianist Kristian Chong takes us around the world on this magical carpet of flute and piano sound. Moving between Europe and Australia, the music on the recording gives us both a look back at the flute in the 20th century and a look forward at where it might be going in the 21st century. It’s an inspiring collection of music [..]” – Maureen Buja, Interlude

Step onto this magical carpet with excerpts from Miriam Hyde’s enchanting 5 Solos for Flute and Piano, captured in a live performance: https://youtu.be/6Zzz2B5RVlw

The Full Flower Moon peaks today and Carl Petersson has a special treat in store! Tan Dun’s 'Missing Moon' from 'Eight Memories in Watercolor is a quiet diary entry of homesickness, written when the composer first left his native Hunan to study in Beijing at the end of the Cultural Revolution. In Chinese culture the moon often carries the weight of distance and longing, and here its pale light is transformed into suspended harmonies and sighing melodic lines that feel like memories resurfacing and fading. This intimate miniature, drawn from folk-tinged recollections of Tan Dun’s childhood, shimmers with the translucent delicacy of its “watercolor” title while revealing the emotional roots of the composer who would later win global acclaim for works such as 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon'.

Silver Skies — first single out now!
A luminous dialogue between flute and piano, from Paris to contemporary Australia.
Sterling and Kristian Chong - Pianist bring together the elegance of Poulenc and Gaubert, the introspection of Martin, and the vibrant voices of Vine, Boyd and Hyde — music shaped by colour, line, and song. Melodic, atmospheric, and deeply expressive, these are works that let the flute truly sing.
