🌍 Methane is warming the planet 80x faster than CO₂ — but it could also be our fastest climate fix.

From livestock and rice farming to fossil fuels and landfills, methane is responsible for 0.5°C of the 1.2°C global temperature rise we’re already experiencing. The good news? Because it dissipates in about a decade, tackling methane now can deliver measurable impact within our lifetime.

Explore how global action — and individual choices — can help turn the tide. 👉 Read the full story on our blog: https://www.themillsfabrica.com/about-us/insights/blogs/methane-the-fast-track-to-slowing-climate-change/

The workshop that followed explored practical steps for businesses to create shared value, and we hope everyone found the ideas helpful. We’re excited to continue championing this vision for a better future! 🎯

The Future Maker Award, proudly presented by The Mills Fabrica, celebrates emerging talents who are shaping the future of textiles.

This year’s winners receive a six-month residency at our prototyping lab, where they receive mentorship, access to cutting-edge facilities, and opportunities to connect with industry partners. This journey culminates in a showcase that elevates their work and propels their professional growth within an inspiring ecosystem.

Introducing the two inspiring collections from HKDI awardees:
✨ Phoebe HUI: Inspired by ancient Chinese joinery, her designs feature interlocking angled panels and geometric details that mimic tenon structures—turning construction into wearable art. Naturally dyed with plants like butterfly pea and pagoda buds, each piece blends heritage with structural elegance.

✨ Sarah FUNG: Fruits and vegetables embossed onto living, breathable textiles create microscopic textures and rhythmic patterns. These biodegradable designs invite touch, transforming waste into tactile poetry through avant-garde, eco-conscious artistry.

Innovation is alive in our lab—DM us to visit and discover these visionary designers!

Why do techstyle and agrifood innovation matter? Because fashion and food aren’t just personal choices—together, these industries account for up to 40% of global greenhouse gas emissions. They drive some of the world’s most urgent social and environmental challenges, from water scarcity to overflowing landfills. If the way we make, use, and consume these essentials doesn’t change, our planet’s future is at risk.

That’s why The Mills Fabrica is here: to accelerate breakthrough solutions that transform how we create and consume fashion and food, supporting a circular, low-impact future. We bring startups, brands, and communities together to innovate and scale meaningful impact.

✨ Madonna MAK | Inspired by the resilience of the homeless community, her designs use layering, deconstruction, and repurposed materials to convey survival, resourcefulness, and identity—challenging conventional beauty with garments that speak of strength and dignity.
