“Resonance” - Origin
According to the Oxford Dictionary, the word “Resonance” stands for “the quality in a sound of being deep, full, and reverberating.” As the sole broadcasting entity in HKUST, it is our bounded duty to deliver high quality and entertaining programmes, in addition to providing a reliab
le and instantaneous news source to the community. We also strive to connect various communities within HKUST via numerous activities which we set out to organize. Hence we aim to join hands with our fellow members of the People’s Campus Radio to embrace diversity and create “Resonance”.
“Resonance” can also be defined as “the power to evoke enduring images, memories, and emotions in people’s minds.” In the bygone months, Hong Kong citizens have been living under a regime of brutality and terror. Despite the bloodbath and annihilation taking place on the streets of Hong Kong, the citizens took their rage to the streets and fought against tyranny in pursuit of freedom and democracy. Hence, “Resonance” signifies the power to voice out our ideas, which brings people together, and motivates us to march on against repression.
