"JESUS, THE GREAT LIGHT"
(Isaiah 9:2)
Matthew 4:16-17 KJV
16. The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.
17. From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
John 8:12. Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
John 3:18-19 KJV
18. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
Light is the natural agent that stimulates sight and makes things visible. God Almighty, created the world, and the world was full of darkness, and He said, let there be light, and there was light, and He saw it, and said it was good. Then He separated the darkness from the light, calling the light day, and the darkness, He called night. Man enjoyed the light until satan brought darkness into man and the world, through deceit, leading to man sinning against his Creator and Maker, the Almighty God.
Before Christ Jesus was born, the world, and indeed, everything that ever existed lived in thick darkness, as a result of SIN. There was a separation between man and the Almighty God. Man walked in ignorance and uncertainties. The devil held sway, treating and manipulating man, the way he wanted. Man groaned under his tutelage, hoping for a day his deliverer will come.
At God's own appointed time, the Saviour and Deliverer, Christ Jesus, was born. He came as the great LIGHT, to illuminate the life and way of man. That light was, and is great enough to send the devil and his agents packing from our lives, families, businesses and everything that pertains to us. That light also exposes and expels SIN from the lives, of as many who receives it.
Christ Jesus came, confirming the fact that He is the LIGHT of the WORLD. The Light that shines in darkness, and the darkness cannot comprehend it. And He extended an open invitation to as many who are still living in Sin and darkness, to run into the light, so that their darkness can disappear, and their lives transformed into His own very image and likeness. I and many people around the world, at one time or the other, heard His audible voice through the gospel message, and we responded positively, inviting Him into our hearts, to illuminate it, and be the Lord and Saviour of our Souls. I testify to the glory of the Almighty God, that we not only live and walk in the Light, but He has made us lights unto the world. Hence, our lives, deeds and the gospel message we preach reflect His glory, image and likeness, hallelujah!
The Bible says, despite the availability of this Great and free Light to the World, many have chosen to remain, live and walk in darkness, and the reason is simple, because their DEEDS are EVIL. The Bible warns that all those who have hitherto refused to believe and accept this Great Light, Jesus Christ of Nazareth, are condemned already for their failure to do so. The Bible also says, there is a way that seems right unto a man, but the end thereof is death and destruction.
The evil deeds of man that is making many to reject and run away from the Light includes, but are not limited to the followings: SIN! Sin is in various degrees, the Bible says every disobedience to God is sin. Cultism and all forms of secret societies - ogboni fraternity, ruscicrucian armoc, idol worship, false religious beliefs and worship, etc are sins. Criminals and crminality, insurgencies and militancy, armed robbery, pen robbery and looting of private and public treasuries and funds. Adultery and fornication, lying and cheating, pride and arrogance, envy, jealousy, malice and unforgiving spirit, hypocrisies and pretences, waywardness and indecent dressings and appearances, and all forms of falsehoods, to mention but a few, are all evil deeds or sins.
Jesus Christ, the GREAT LIGHT, is passing your way right now, why not invite Him, into your hearts, homes, families, work, businesses, and into everything that concerns you today, you will certainly be glad you did, and you shall break forth with the shouts of rejoicing, and Songs of Victory on every side, from all sins or evil deeds, and you will walk and live in the Light, and also have the hope of spending your eternity with Him, in His Kingdom at the end of your sojourn here on earth, in Jesus Mighty Name, amen!
