The documentary chronicles the lives of two royal sisters who were caught between the strings of their royal past and the changing regimes. The elder sister, Aisin Gioro Xianzi, also known as Yoshiko Kawashima, became the foster child of a
Japanese ronin and a spy. The younger sister, 94-year old Xianqi, also known as Jin Moyu, who has been living under the shadow of her older sister, candidly talks about her life from royalty to commoner and memories of her older sister.
“A Life of Tempestuous Waves”, a documentary financed and produced by New Page Communications, is the legendary tale of how Aisin Gioro Xianzi (Yoshiko Kawashima) and Xianqi (Jin Moyu), daughters of Qing Dynasty's Prince Su, lived through the changing eras of China in the last 100 years.
