🎯 Geisha skills meet glass art – and yes, she throws
🎯 舞妓出手，裂璃成畫——這一擲，不是玩笑

A Kyoto artist walks into a studio with a maiko, a cracked glass frame, and a very sharp kunai. This is not the start of a joke – it's contemporary art. 🗡️✨

Watch as a traditionally trained maiko (that's an apprentice geisha) channels her inner assassin, hurling a blade straight into a broken glass frame. The result? A collision of precision, performance, and pure audacity. Who knew tea ceremony training included knife throwing? (Spoiler: it doesn't. This is art.)

Warning: do not try this at home. Or anywhere, really. 😅

一位京都藝術家，一位舞妓，一面碎裂的玻璃框，還有一把鋒利的苦無。這不是笑話的開場白——這是當代藝術。🗡️✨

Creators for Tomorrow Open Call: Turn Your Creative Idea Into a Real Plan｜藝術中心公開徵集藝術提案：把你的創意寫成可實現的計劃 (Deadline: 30.06.2026)

很多藝術家的非凡創意總是停在腦海裡——不是因為不夠好，而是因為欠缺一個讓它啟動的起點。由香港藝術中心發起的「Creators for Tomorrow」新一輪公開徵集，誠邀本地新晉藝術家、研究人員及策劃人，把創作理念轉化成可以推進、可以完成的提案，讓想像不只停留在靈感。

Many artists’ extraordinary ideas remain confined to their minds — not because they are not good enough, but because they lack a starting point to set them in motion. Hong Kong Arts Centre’s latest round of the ‘Creators for Tomorrow’ open call invites local emerging artists, researchers and curators to transform their creative concepts into proposals that can be developed and realised, ensuring that imagination does not remain merely a spark of inspiration.

本屆徵集什麼？
本計劃涵蓋三大類別：
- 展覽
- 專題研究
- 策劃（本年度新增！）
而且不設題材、媒介或教育背景限制——只要你有原創概念、並且能說明你的計劃如何逐步落地，就值得一試。

WHAT'S ALL ABOUT?
The programme covers three main categories:
- Exhibitions
- Research
- Curatorial projects (New this year!)
Furthermore, there are no restrictions on subject matter, medium or educational background — as long as you have an original concept and can explain how your project will be implemented step by step, it is well worth a try.

最值得注目的地方：
- 最高資助金額提升至港幣90,000元
- 新增「策劃」界別：誠邀策劃人提交策劃建議書
- 加強業界專業人士交流支援：讓你的創作不只是想法，而更具執行力
- 新設「評審團之選」獎項：獲獎者可額外獲得港幣20,000元海外文化交流資助

Highlights This Year?
- Increased funding amount of up to HK$ 90,000
- Introduction of a new ‘Curatorial’ category, inviting curators to submit curatorial proposals
- Addition of professional mentorship support from industry experts
- Launch of the ‘Jury’s Choice’ award, with a winner receiving an additional HK$ 20,000 to support overseas cultural exchange activities

🍅 From grocery aisle to gallery wall – in 18 hours
🍅 超市買來的食材，竟然變成了《蒙娜麗莎》？

Three people. One pair of tweezers. A fridge full of cubed fruits and veggies. And 18 painstaking hours later… they didn’t make a salad. 🥗❌ They recreated the Mona Lisa. 🎨✨

Yes, that smile? Made of avocado, kiwi, strawberry, apple, and watermelon. No paintbrushes were harmed in the making of this food art. Just sheer madness, precision, and probably a few hungry stomachs. 😢🔪

After the shoot? They ate the masterpiece. As one should. 🍽️

三個人，一把鉗子，一堆切成方塊的蔬果。經過十八小時的漫長奮戰……他們沒有做成沙律。🥗❌ 他們拼出了《蒙娜麗莎》。🎨✨

你沒看錯，那抹神秘微笑，原來是牛油果、奇異果、草莓、蘋果和西瓜的顏色。沒有畫筆，只有鉗子與耐性，還有一顆「不成功便成仁」的決心。😢🔪

拍攝完成後？他們把名畫吃掉了。這才是最優雅的謝幕。🍽️

🎭 Two hands, one brain – and zero chaos
🎭 左右開弓，腦不亂，手更癲

Watch Left Right (yes, that’s really the name) do something most humans can’t: draw flawless architectural sketches with both hands simultaneously. 🖐️✍️🖐️ One hand mirrors, the other complements – traditional buildings and cityscapes appear like magic, symmetrical and precise. It looks effortless. It absolutely is not. This is what happens when intense focus meets a complete lack of interest in doing things the normal way. 🏛️✨

藝術家「左右」人如其名——能用雙手同時繪畫建築草圖，精準得令人懷疑他藏了兩套大腦。🖐️✍️🖐️ 左手映照，右手補全，一筆一劃建出對稱古城與傳統建築，過程看似從容，實則專注力爆棚。他沒有走捷徑，他只是把捷徑拆成了兩條，同時走完。🏛️

Moving through Paris’s studios, salons and debates, each absorbed what was generative while remaining, at the deepest level, themselves. What emerged was not an imitation of modernism, but a contribution to its global vernacular—one that quietly redefined what painting could hold and what forms of existence it might make visible.
