🌍💡 Is Climate Change Real or a Myth? Let’s Find Out! 💡🌍

📢 Don‘t miss the chance to challenge what you think you know about climate change! 🔍❄️🔥 The exhibition ”Is Climate Change a Genuine Phenomenon?“ is here to tackle myths, bust misconceptions, and bring you the facts you need. 🧠✨

📊 Did you know?
👉 35% of Hong Kongers think misinformation about climate change is a big problem.
👉 But nearly 25% still believe things like:

1.❄️ ”Cold waves mean climate change isn’t real.“
2.🌱 ”It‘s just a natural process, not caused by humans.“
3.⏳ ”It’s too late to fix anything, so why bother?“

🚨 Think these sound familiar? Then this exhibition is for you! 💬 Come learn the difference between weather and climate, understand ”once-in-a-century“ rainstorms 🌧️, and explore what‘s really happening with Antarctic sea ice 🧊.

📅 Event Details:
🗓️ When: May 9–22
⏰ Time: 8:00 AM–6:00 PM daily
📍 Where: Koo Ming Kown Exhibition Gallery, Lee Shau Kee Communication and Visual Arts Building, HKBU (5 Hereford Road, Kowloon Tong)
✨ FREE ENTRY – so bring your friends, family, and curiosity! Let’s fight climate myths together! 🌱💪

Organized by Prof. Stephanie Jean Tsang from HKBU‘s Department of Communication Studies. 🧑‍🏫📚

🚀 Digital Transformation Insights for COMS Students 💡

Our students got a masterclass in digital innovation from Jaslin Goh, Director of Marketing, Corporate Communications and Data at Octopus Holdings Ltd! 🐙✨

Jaslin shared some serious wisdom 🧠 on why established companies face more significant transformation hurdles than fresh startups. Our students explored fascinating contrasts:

• Clean slate vs. infrastructure changes 🏗️
• Open vs. closed operational loops ⭕
• Hierarchical vs. flat cultures 📊
• Agile teams vs. traditional departments 🧩

The key takeaway? Digital transformation is like conducting an orchestra - all elements must harmonise for success! 🎵🔄

With 20+ years of experience across advertising, data consulting, tech, and fintech industries, Jaslin is an industry veteran. 💪

🚀 COMS Students Take on the PR World at Burson Hong Kong

What does it take to thrive in PR? Our students got a behind-the-scenes look during their visit to Burson Hong Kong at the WPP Campus! 🌆

From the stunning K11 Atelier rooftop views to real talk with industry pros, the day was packed with learning.

Big thanks to:
✔ Angela Kung (Managing Director, Financial Communications) for strategic insights
✔ Directors Amber, Ada and Ricky, SAE Bernard, and AE Esther for sharing career wisdom (and life lessons!)

Key takeaway? AI is transforming the PR industry and practices—but human insight still leads the way. 🤖💡
Inspired and ready for the future!

🧠✨ When A.I. Means ”An Insight“: PRA Alumni Shares Industry Wisdom! 🎯💡

Our PRA students got a creative boost this week when HKBU alumni David Tam (now Associate Creative Director at Havas Group Hong Kong!) dropped by Dr. Vivienne Leung‘s class to share some serious industry knowledge! 🚀👨‍🎓

David’s talk ”A.I. Stands for An Insight“ had our students buzzing with excitement as he unpacked how deep consumer insights create advertising magic! 🔮✨ He showed that understanding human behaviour remains the secret sauce for campaign success, even in our tech-driven world! 🧐❤️

Playing with the ”AI“ concept, David revealed how artificial intelligence and genuine insights can team up to supercharge creativity—not replace it! 🤖🤝💭 Our students saw real-world examples of this powerful combo delivering impressive campaign results!

Dr. Leung‘s PRA3056 course gives students the toolkit for campaign success - from research methods and strategic planning to implementation and measuring results. 📊📈 And when industry pros like David share their real-world experience? That’s when classroom learning truly comes alive! 💥🎓

At COMS@HKBU, we‘re all about connecting classroom theory with industry reality! 🌉🔗
