[美國首演回顧 4] 6月28號，我哋離開印第安納波尼斯到達以現代建築聞名嘅哥倫布市，為First Presbyterian Church第一季的Music in FPC音樂會系列揭開序幕。喺音樂會前一星期，當地報紙The Republic更以半版篇幅作專題報道，估唔到成為當地盛事。呢次午間音樂會，為我哋嘅美國首演，劃上完美嘅句號。

[Review of Our U.S. Debut 4] On June 28th, we left Indianapolis and arrived in Columbus, a city famous for its modern architecture, to kick off the new season of the "Music in FPC" concert series at the First Presbyterian Church. A week before the concert, the local newspaper, The Republic, even featured a half-page special report, which unexpectedly turned it into a major local event. This afternoon concert brought a perfect close to our US premiere.

[美國首演回顧 2 - 指揮大師班] 今次美國演出之行特別之處係除咗有三場演出外，仲有一節指揮大師班。Eric Stark話既然我哋一場蒞到，佢無辦法唔「自肥」自製機會畀佢嘅學生指揮我哋，擴闊眼界！於是佢安排咗四位曾經或正在Butler University受業於佢嘅學生以及一位佢喺Indianapolis Symphonic Choir嘅團員，喺6月24號晚接受音樂總監朱振威指導指揮技巧，由我哋擔任示範合唱團。雖然Eric Stark話係想幫佢嘅學生增進經驗，我哋從幾位指揮嘅帶領以及朱總嘅講解，一樣得到唔少啟發。

[Review of Our U.S. Debut 2 - Conducting Masterclass] This U.S. performance tour was special not just for the three shows but also for a conducting masterclass. Eric Stark mentioned that he couldn’t resist the chance to let his students conduct a group like ours! He arranged for four current and former conducting students from Butler University, along with a member of the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir, to receive guidance from Music Director Leon Chu, with us serving as the lab choir. While Eric said the goal was to help his students gain experience, we were equally inspired by the insights shared by both the student conductors and Leon.

[美國首演回顧 3] 6月26號晚上，我哋喺Fairview Presbyterian Church同Indianapolis Symphonic Choir舉行咗一場交流演出，重頭戲當然係最後兩首大合唱。我哋一直好好(疑)奇(惑) 喺只得15分鐘同我哋排練，主要靠事前自修嘅ISC朋友會將粵語演唱嘅陳永華《敬畏上主》唱成點？結果正式排練一take收貨！我哋都好驚喜又好感動，佢哋真係好用心預備。此外，由於Alex同Vincent兩位鋼琴伴奏不斷趁排練空檔夾四手聯彈，朱總特別加插佢哋演奏三首曲目，包括一首神秘曲目《(Back Home Again In) Indiana》，ISC團員及觀眾認出之後都非常高興，今次係一次好有意義嘅文化交流。

[Review of Our U.S. Debut 3] What a night on June 26th at Fairview Presbyterian Church! We teamed up with the amazing Indianapolis Symphonic Choir for a fantastic exchange performance. The grand finale, featuring two massive choral pieces, was unforgettable. We were genuinely wondering how the ISC members would tackle Chan Wing-wah’s “Blessed Are All Who Fear the Lord” with us. With only 15 minutes of joint rehearsal and mostly self-preparation — especially since it’s in Cantonese! Their dedication was incredibly touching; they absolutely nailed it in the very first rehearsal take. Their preparation earned so much respect from us.

And there’s more! Our talented pianists, Alex and Vincent, were constantly practicing their four-hand duets during breaks. So, our conductor Leon decided to throw in their performance of three pieces, including a total surprise piece — “(Back Home Again In) Indiana”! The reactions from the ISC members and the audience were priceless – pure joy! It was truly a special and meaningful cultural exchange.
