Edible Business Card, innovated by GEOMETRY GLOBAL, Tokyo, Japan
Many Japanese traditional meals use Nori (seaweed) as a daily ingredient. Amazingly 1/4 of Japan’s seaweed production was made in Saga, and for 13 consecutive years they have been the largest producer in Japan for both volume and sales.
GEOMETRY GLOBAL decided to put a new twist in this timeless practice and turn it into a direct marketing opportunity. “Edible Business Card” uniquely made by tasty “Saga Nori” was a big hit. Local government officials, local business owners as well as celebrities born in Saga aggressively exchanged their business cards and drive Saga popularity.

House for Booklovers and Cats, by BFDO Architects

The row house, named “House for Booklovers and Cats”, was created for a couple who are both passionate about poetry, art and their two cats. They were seeking a colorful and light-filled home, also include ways for the cats to slip away from unexpected guests.

Forming a main feature in the living room, a custom-made book shelf runs along the entire left side. It has dozens of cubby holes, and its top features two ledges that ascend from the middle, serving as a crawl-space for the felines.

All of the walls in the residence are painted white, with pops of colour provided by the pink front door, a grey handrail, and furniture pieces throughout. A kitchen and dining area leads out to a garden, accessed via an industrial-style staircase. At the back of the house, a two-storey wall of glass floods the interior with light as well.

Spanish interior and product designer Marta Del Valle has created a set of chairs resembling a glass of wine. The Merlot inspired by a "Wine Glass", described by her as “Sexy” the ‘Wine Glass’. Chair and stool duo consists of a shell (the transparent & red part) made from polycarbonate, and supported by a stainless steel frame.

Oblon is the new line of bathroom accessories and containers by Novello that combines the refined purity of Japanese culture with contemporary taste and living requirements. A characteristic element of Oblon is the wash-basin in Teknorit which is composed of three parts - basin, ring and tray - stackable, interchangeable and available in different colours.
The various accessories perfect the functionality and versatility of this furnishing programme, proposing innovative solutions. Examples of these are the wash-basin tray that becomes a convenient dressing table, the mirrors that can hold tablets or smartphones, stools that can be used as towel-holders, rails equipped with clothes hangers or shelves.

RA lamps by Alexandre Joncas, D'Armes Luminaires

'sense-me' is an exhibition exploring a new generation of design, one that evokes pleasure and further looks into connectivity and attraction. As part of 'sense-me', D’Armes Luminaires has just presented their RA Pendant and Ra Wall lamps, emits a hypnotic luminosity and aura.

The RA Pendant：modern with simple lines, is suspended by silicon cables at a slight angle. Mounted above a table, its warm light conjures memories of an evening around a campfire. The suspension lighting system is 112cm(width) with adjustable length and is available in white or a matt black with details in natural or oxidized brass.

The RA Wall：The circular neon tube emits a bright light that reflects softly on the wall. A solid bronze disc eclipses a part of the light and draws in the hues of the setting. The RA Wall lamp is 25.5cm(width) x 86cm(length). Both glass neon tubes bent manually, contain a mixture of gaz and rare minerals that produce a warm, dimmable light with surprising features: 2,800k and 1,800 lumens.

The Silo Hotel by Thomas Heatherwick
The Silo Hotel is a magical space towering above the V&A Waterfront surrounded by the natural wonder of South Africa’s Mother City, Cape Town. The Silo has been built in the grain elevator portion of the historic grain silo complex occupying six floors above what will become the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (MOCAA). Opened in 1924, The grain silo operated for nearly 80 years as an international trade and export facility at the heart of Table Bay harbour. It is now located within the mixed-use V&A Waterfront area, alongside a retail mall, restaurants, cafes and residences.
Heatherwick Studio's refurbishment retains many of the building's original features, including 42 cylindrical storage silos that will be carved out internally to form a grand atrium for the museum. The most visible change to the exterior is the rows of pillowed glass windows inserted into the existing concrete frame of the upper floors.
The Silo Hotel has 28 rooms, including a spectacular one bedroom penthouse. Each room has been individually designed and decorated by the stylish wand of Liz Biden. Colourful and eclectic pieces juxtapose the modern, industrial architecture. The 7 room categories are based on the room size and the views. The rooms are more spacious vertically than horizontally due to the unique architectural features.

VENUS bookcase by Fabio Novembre for Driade

During the Salone Internationale del Mobile 2017, italian designer Fabio Novembre presents ‘Venus’, a bookcase for Driade. With a structure made of oak veneer, Fabio continues his exploration of adding figurative elements into his designs, bringing back mythic beauty as occurred in greek art. Venus, was portioned into 5 pieces, the marble power mixed with resin statue rests in between the wooden slabs.
