By flying east to North America and crossing the International Date Line, these flights arrive on December 31 local time.

For example, CX 880 leaves Hong Kong at 00:30 on January 1 and lands in Los Angeles at 20:55 on December 31, CX 872 departs at 01:00 and arrives in San Francisco at 21:00, and CX 888 reaches Vancouver at 20:35.

Other flights land in Anchorage and New York while it is still New Year’s Eve, allowing passengers to celebrate twice."

🟢 Leaked Photos Suggest Cathay Could Be Reviving Its Historic Livery for Its 80th Anniversary 🛩

🎙 "As Cathay Pacific prepares to celebrate its 80th anniversary in 2026, signs suggest the Hong Kong airline is bringing back its iconic green-and-white livery on one of its flagship Airbus A350 aircraft.

Known as the “Lettuce Leaf Sandwich”, the livery was introduced in the 1970s, remained in use until mid-1990s, and became closely associated with the Kai Tak Airport era.

The retro design came to light over the weekend after aviation enthusiasts spotted the aircraft undergoing maintenance work at a Cathay Pacific facility in Xiamen, with images showing the historic livery partially visible behind scaffolding."
