🌪️ T8 Raised as Super Typhoon Ragasa Nears Hong Kong 🌧️

🎙️ "The Hong Kong Observatory has raised the No. 8 signal as Super Typhoon Ragasa moves closer. Satellite images show a dense cloud mass already covering much of southern China, including Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Macau.

Ragasa is now about 370 km from the city and is forecast to be 245 km away by 8 p.m., with violent winds near 220 km/h. Depending on its path and local conditions, a higher signal may be considered tonight or tomorrow morning.

Storm surge could raise water levels by 2 metres, peaking tomorrow morning at 3.5–4 metres, and up to 5 metres in Tolo Harbour.

The public is advised to take precautions."

8️⃣ HKO Warns T8 May Be Raised Tomorrow Between 1–4 PM as Super Typhoon Ragasa Nears 🌀

🎙️ “Super Typhoon Ragasa is moving closer to Hong Kong. The Observatory will issue the Strong Wind Signal No. 3 (T3) at 9:40 PM tonight, and has warned that Storm Signal No. 8 (T8) may be raised between 1 PM and 4 PM tomorrow.

Forecasts show Ragasa crossing the Luzon Strait into the northern South China Sea today, bringing stronger winds as it nears the Guangdong coast.

Hong Kong last raised T10 during Typhoon Wipha in July 2025. The most destructive super typhoon in recent memory was Mangkhut in September 2018."

🎙 "The Black Eyed Peas are set to bring their global hits back to Hong Kong this autumn. The group will perform at AXA Wonderland in West Kowloon on 19 November 2025. The concert organiser announced the event yesterday on Instagram.

Ticket prices for the November show have not yet been announced. Further details are expected soon."

🌪️ T3 To Be Issued Between 9AM and 11AM, Kindergartens Suspended 🌧️

🎙️ "With Tropical Storm Mitag edging closer to Hong Kong, the Observatory said the Strong Wind Signal No. 3 will be issued this morning between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.

As a result, the Education Bureau and the Government announced that all kindergartens and schools for children with disabilities will remain closed today, 19 September."

🎙 "The Hong Kong Observatory has extended the Gale or Storm Signal No. 8 for Tropical Storm Tapah, which was originally expected to remain in force until at least 11 a.m., and will now last until at least 1 p.m.

Depending on how much local winds weaken, the Observatory may issue the Strong Wind Signal No. 3 in the afternoon. All schools remain suspended today."

8️⃣ HKO: T8 To Be Issued at 9:20PM and to Last at Least Until 11 AM Tomorrow 🌀

🎙 "The Hong Kong Observatory will issue the Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 at 9:20 PM tonight as Tropical Storm Tapah approaches the coast of western Guangdong.

Tapah is expected to pass within 200 kilometres southwest of Hong Kong around sunrise before making landfall over western Guangdong.

Winds will strengthen overnight, and the T8 signal will remain in force at least until at least 11AM tomorrow morning."

🎈 Hot Air Balloon Fest Kicks Off Tomorrow For 4 Days in Central 🌅

🎙️ "For the first time, Central Harbourfront will showcase giant hot air balloons in a wide range of shapes and colors. From 4 to 7 September 2025, visitors can enjoy breathtaking sunset views as balloons shaped like pandas, dinosaurs and other animals illuminate the evening sky.

Balloons will be inflated during every session, but the most magical moment takes place at sunset, when the largest ones rise into the air and remain anchored against the harbor backdrop.

Tethered rides run from 07:30 to 09:30 and 17:00 to 19:00, priced at HK$580 per person. A drone photography service is available at HK$200 per photo. Carnival entry is priced at HK$200 for a Sunrise Ticket and HK$880 for a Sunset Ticket."

🎙 "A new live music venue is set to open in Hong Kong. TIDES, with space for 1,500 people, is in the ship-shaped Whampoa complex in Hung Hom and is built for the needs of modern touring artists.
