Announcement to All Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Hungary

Dear Kababayans,

Warm greetings from PASEI.

We would like to share an important update regarding recent developments in Hungary following the parliamentary elections held last Sunday.

We understand that such news may raise questions or concerns among our fellow OFWs currently working and residing in Hungary. In this regard, we would like to reassure everyone, based on guidance from our partners, that:

The legal status of OFWs currently residing and working in Hungary remains secure; and
The extension of your stay in Hungary is guaranteed, provided that all legal requirements and conditions are met.

While there are indications that the new government may introduce reforms to the guest worker system in the future, please be advised that the scope, content, and timing of any such reforms are not yet determined. Any changes, if implemented, are expected to take place in the mid-term and will be properly communicated once official details are available.

At this time, there is no immediate cause for concern, and all OFWs are encouraged to continue complying with existing laws, regulations, and employment conditions.
PASEI, together with our partners, is closely monitoring the situation and will keep you informed of any verified updates.

We encourage everyone to remain calm, stay informed through official channels, and reach out to your respective agencies should you have any questions or need assistance.

Kumalat na ang balita: Panalo si Péter Magyar at ang TISZA Party sa Hungary! Pero kasabay ng panalo nila, marami sa ating mga kababayan ang nagtatanong: "Pauuwiin na ba kami? May trabaho pa ba kami?"

Totoo na naging matapang ang bagong gobyerno sa pagsabing gusto nilang limitahan ang mga foreign workers para unahin ang mga lokal na Hungarians. Maaaring maging mas mahigpit ang pag-apply ng mga bagong visa at permits simula ngayon.

📌 The Good News:
Dahil ang TISZA Party ay "pro-Europe," obligado silang sumunod sa mas maayos na batas para sa karapatan ng mga manggagawa. Kung legal ang kontrata mo, protektado ka ng batas. Hindi ito biglaang "paalisin lahat"—it’s more about regulating and cleaning the system.

📌 Advice sa mga OFW sa Hungary:

Be Document-Ready: Siguraduhing kumpleto at updated ang inyong Work Permits at OEC.

Stay Legal: Iwasan ang anumang "side hustle" na hindi pasok sa inyong visa category.

Don't Panic: Ang mga pagbabago sa batas ay dumadaan sa proseso. Hindi ito nangyayari overnight.

Inuulit ko po na ako ay walang kaugnayan sa mga agency na mga ito. Based po ito sa mga lesensyadong agency papunta sa New Zealand sa kahit anong trabahong hanap nyo papuntang New Zealand. Hangad ko lang po ay makatulong sa inyo ng hindi na kayo mahirapan pang maghanap ng legit at valid ang lesensya para mag hire ng mga applicants papuntang New Zealand at paalala ko po ulit na ang New Zealand ay no placement fee policy sa kahit anong trabaho papunta Dito.

"Hungary Election 2026: Mababago ba ang ating Status?"

Focus muna tayo sa Central Europe. Alam niyo ba na ang Hungary ay isa sa pinaka-popular na destination ng mga Pinoy factory workers at operators ngayon? Pero may "Giant Question Mark" na paparating: ang 2026 National Elections.

May mga lumalabas na balita (like from Daily News Hungary) about the future of guest workers. Heto ang simplified breakdown para sa ating mga Kabayan:

🏛️ Ano ang "Hot Topic" sa Hungary?
Ngayon pa lang, nagiging mainit na usapan na ang dagsa ng foreign workers. Ang current government ni PM Viktor Orbán ay naglabas ng "New Immigration Law" nitong 2024, at habang papalapit ang 2026 elections, mas nagiging strikto ang mga rules.

💡 Paano ito makaka-apekto sa'yo?
The "Three-Year" Rule: ⏳ Sa bagong batas, ang guest worker stay ay hanggang 3 years lang (2 years + 1 year extension). After nun, kailangan mo munang umuwi. Walang "automatic" path to permanent residency or citizenship para sa mga guest workers sa ilalim ng current plan.
