“DUES FOR THE FEW — STRUGGLE FOR THE MANY”
Exposing the Disparity Between Union Leadership and School Bus Attendants
37 YEARS OF SERVICE — STILL UNDER $20/HR
One of our most loyal school bus attendants served from 1984 to 2021 — and retired without ever earning $20/hour. Is this what dedication gets you?
MEANWHILE, AT THE UNION HALL:
2024 Salaries (Source: Office of Labor-Management Standards):
•President Tomas Fret: $300,355
•Secretary-Treasurer Jean Calixte: $234,928
•Recording Secretary Anthony Cordiello: $198,802
•19 of 23 union employees earn over $75,000
•Average compensation: $136,457
Our dues fund their luxury, while we work two jobs to survive.
CORRUPTION, NEPOTISM & DISRESPECT
•A shop steward in the Bronx, Carlos Fret, is running for delegate despite not being in good standing — all because his cousin is President Tomas Fret.
•Jean Calixte, our Secretary-Treasurer, is choosing his clique over fairness.
•Carlos said, “attendants don’t need money because they get public assistance.”
That is not leadership — that is insulting.
AND IT GETS WORSE…
President Fret is allegedly using union dues to fund time with Carolyn Rinaldi for hotels in Las Vegas, Washington DC, and Upstate New York— and trying to make her Vice President, even though she’s not in good standing. Seemingly, her salary of $ 127,000.00 is not enough.
WE DEMAND - PROMISE:
•A $25+/hour wage for ALL Top pay school bus attendants
•A transparent investigation into the misuse of union power and money
•Fair elections — no more favoritism, no more nepotism
•Respect and representation — not insults and neglect
WE MOVE THE CITY.
It is time our union moved for us — not for family, not for favorites, not for side deals.
STAND UP. SPEAK OUT. TAKE BACK OUR UNION.
