It was a strange week for us, between weather that couldn't decide if it was winter or summer and kitten traumas, not a great deal got done. We have a young kitten (one of 4) Shiva, who we thought just had an abscess on his back leg, but at visit number 2 to the vet, we discovered he has completely snapped his femur. We've been waiting for the infection to clear after he was drained for the second time. He is back at the vets today for surgical discussions. We are likely to opt for amputation, he has no sensations in his foot and we don't want him having multiple surgeries that might not work anyway. So the stress and worry has kept working to a minimum. However, yesterday, finally a nice day, and Shiva doing really well, Mark carried on with his tasks. Most of the plaster is removed in the kitchen/lounge area. Outside front, render off and some mortar replaced and brick repairs began. He is now focusing on the window areas, as the windows arrive today, it would be nice to get them in quickly if possible. The old archway lintel above the current windows are poor, so additional steel and concrete lintels are being added. We've noticed many houses and properties have no or poor lintels in the village, so it was always going to be checked thoroughly before installing new windows. The same applies to our own house (replacement happening too). You can't skip the importance of lintels 😃👍 Obviously this week is also likely to be a little chaotic, so please be patient with us. We will keep the updates coming though. Thank you.
