We are pleased to announce that the PRIZE in Category "SINGERS" in the third edition of the Cadenza Contest has been assigned to soprano Radoslava Vorgic Zurzovan from Serbia.

She will receive an award of €1.200 grant.

Born in Novi Sad, Serbia, her first stage appearance gave at six years old. Nowadays she is a sought-after soloist by several festivals, concert organizations, orchestras and ensembles, such as Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz, Jugend Orchester ODEON (Munich), Neumeyer Consort (Frankfurt), New Trinity Baroque, Sarband ensemble, etc. She is a member of a specialist program BAROCK VOKAL in Mainz. She had concerts in the opening and closing of the 13th Belgrade Baroque Festival. Radoslava Vorgic has taken masterclasses specializing in baroque music with Ton Koopman, Emma Kirkby, Anna Bonitatibus, Andreas and Elisabeth Scholl, Wolfgang Katschner, Martin Gester, Marijana Mijanovic, and on the other hand the masterclasses by the most famous opera singers such like Felicity Lott, Cheryl Studer, Helen Donath, Janice Alder.
Radoslava finished her studies and received a degree in music pedagogy and voice at the Music Academy of Novi Sad with Professor Milica Stojadinović in Serbia and completed her Master’s studies in concert and operatic singing as well as postgraduate studies with Professor Claudia Eder at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany.

We are pleased to announce that the PRIZE in Category "ENSEMBLES" in the third edition of the Cadenza Contest has been assigned to Paddington Trio.

They will receive an award of €1.600 grant.

Having started their first, big adventure together at the Paddington Station in London during the pandemic in 2020, the Paddington Trio - Tuulia Hero, Violin, Patrick Moriarty, Cello and Stephanie Tang, Piano - knows that a home can be found in the most unusual of times, in perhaps the most unusual of places. Having first arrived separately from Finland, Ireland, and the USA, the young trio together continues to build a safe haven of chamber music and friendship curated for our changing times and audiences of all ages.

Recipients of The Eduard and Marianna Loeser Award, PG Smith Award, Silver Bow
Scholarship and awarded scholarships from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, the Paddington Trio continues to study at The Advanced Chamber Music Program of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

We are pleased to announce that the PRIZE in Category "SOLOISTS" in the third edition of the Cadenza Contest has been assigned to the cellist Luca Giovannini from Italy.

He will receive an award of €1.200 grant.

Luca Giovannini, born in 2000, graduated in 2017 with Honors and Mention with Maestro Luca Simoncini at the Conservatorio Rovigo. He has won numerous prizes during his artistic career, including the prestigious J. Brahms Competition in Austria, National Arts Award 2020, T.I.M. Paris, Grand Prize of Salzburgo, Rising Stars of Berlin, XVIII ° Valsesia Musica Juniores Competition, three editions of the Premio Crescendo, X ° City of Riccione Competition and many others. He also arrived second in the Janigro International Young Competition, and third in the Alice & Eleonore Schoenfeld International String Competition - Harbin. He was also awarded two prestigious scholarships at the Filarmonica della Scala and the prestigious Boris Pergamenschikow at the Kronberg Academy in Frankfurt. He was also selected for the 小澤征爾音楽塾／Seiji Ozawa Music Academy for the year 2020-21.

Luca plays an Ansaldo Poggi cello from 1927 kindly granted by Maestro Mario Brunello.

Well, well.. the application deadline for Cadenza 3 was on December 10th, and we are wishing all the best to all the applicants!

In the meantime, in the days after the deadline closure we have continued to receive many messages from musicians asking to apply. So, we have been thinking a lot and we have decided to make them all a Holiday gift: we hereby announce that the application deadline to the 3rd Cadenza Contest will be exclusively postponed to January 6th 2022. So if you’ve missed the initial deadline, your moment is now!

Considering that this would cause a certain delay in the progress of the competition, we furthermore decided to give a special prize to one of the applicants of any category that have registered on time by December 10th. The award is consisting of a free consulting session with a music communications agency and will be assigned by the jury.

Cadenza 3 - JURY

Roberto Prosseda’s sensational discovery of new works by Mendelssohn made the headlines in Europe and led to several Decca releases. His albums have won much acclaim in the press, including the CHOC from Le Monde de la Musique Classique, the Diapason d’Or and Chamber Music CD of the Month in the UK’s Classic FM magazine. In 2014 Prosseda completed his 10-year project of recording Mendelssohn’s complete piano works for Decca in 10 CDs, also released in a Box-set in 2017 ("Mendelssohn Complete Piano Works").
In 2011 Prosseda gave his debut on the pedal piano, performing the Concerto for Pedal Piano by Gounod in the world premiere in modern times. He has given more than 50 concerts with the pedal piano, rediscovering the original compositions by Robert Schumann, Franz Liszt and Charles Valentin Alkan. Several composers, including Ennio Morricone, have already written new pieces for pedal piano for Roberto Prosseda.

Besides his concert activity, Roberto Prosseda frequently serves as an artistic advisor, creating innovative cultural projects.
In 2012 he conceived the innovative format "Robot Pianist Vs. Human Pianist", with the robot pianist TeoTronico, to help the audience to acquire a more conscious and perceptive listening. More than 100 shows have been staged, also at the Berlin Philharmonie, at the Ankara Festival and in many sold-out concerts at the Beijing Concert Hall, at Symphony Hall in Shanghai and at the Xinghai Symphony Hall in Guangzhou.

Back in 2020, we created Cadenza to give an opportunity to classical musicians in times when theatres and concert halls were silent almost everywhere around the globe. We wanted to give them the motivation to continue and keep growing. Many learned how to use recording technology, how to stand in front of a camera, and how to approach the world of music in a modern way.

Now, at the end of 2021, we are still here and until now we've met more than 1000 musicians and we are excited to continue this way!
