06 Aug 2025 –RFA Tidespring seen from the inside of a Merlin Mk2 Helicopter from 814 NAS with HMS Prince of Wales and USNS Wally Schirra off her starboard side. In a seamless show of allied logistics and maritime interoperability, The UK’s aircraft carrier HMS Prince of Wales conducted a Replenishment at Sea (RAS) with Royal Fleet Auxiliary Tanker RFA Tidespring and the U.S. Navy’s USNS Wally Schirra. The carrier received vital fuel, ammunition, and stores while underway. Led by UK flagship HMS Prince of Wales and involving a dozen nations, the eight-month mission - known as Operation Highmast - has seen the task group pass through the Mediterranean, Middle East, and Indian Ocean visiting Singapore and Australia, the Carrier Strike Group now shifts focus to Asia. The goal is to reaffirm the UK’s commitment to the security of the Mediterranean and Indo-Pacific region, demonstrate collective resolve with our allies and showcase British trade and industry. Over the course of the deployment, upwards of 4,500 British military personnel will be involved, including nearly 600 RAF and 900 soldiers alongside 2,500 Royal Navy sailors and Royal Marines. 🚁⚓🇬🇧🔥

The theme of the Tattoo this year is “the heroes who made us”, celebrating history, heroism and cultural heritage, paying tribute to individuals and stories that shaped the event. This years line up includes performances by United Kingdom, Switzerland, Canada, Germany, Poland, Ukraine and the United States of America. The event is hosted on the iconic Edinburgh Castle Esplanade and performers from all around the world perform against the stunning backdrop of Edinburgh Castle. 💂⚓🇬🇧🔥

U.S., Japanese and British Aircraft Carriers are seen here during a Joint Exercises in the Northern Philippine Sea. F-35Cs lead F-18E/F, E-2 and MV-22 Aircraft in Formation overhead. The navies of the United States, Japan and the United Kingdom have launched a high-profile demonstration of allied naval power in the Northern Philippine Sea. The exercises under Operation Highmast have seen four aircraft carriers deployed, including a U.S. Navy Nimitz Class nuclear powered supercarrier and lighter Wasp Class carrier, as well as a Japanese Izumo Class carrier and HMS Prince of Wales. All four carrier classes deploy the F-35 as their most capable fighters, although only the Nimitz Class ship can accommodate the F-35C variant, with the three lighter ships accommodating the F-35B designed for short takeoffs and vertical landings. The exercise represents the first of its kind involving carrier air wings from the three countries, and saw the Nimitz Class carrier also deploy large numbers of F-18E/F fighters, E/A-18G electronic attack jets and E-2 airborne warning and control systems. ✈️⚓🇬🇧🔥
