Allah's name: Al-Mujeeb المجيب (The Responsive)

➡️ Al-Mujeeb is the One Who responds to the call and invocation of His servants according to His knowledge and wisdom.

⚪️ This is one of the excellent names that occurs only once in the Qur'an, in the verse that says:

(فَاستَغفِروهُ ثُمَّ توبوا إِلَيهِ إِنَّ رَبّي قَريبٌ مُجيبٌ)

"And then repent to Him. Indeed, my Lord is near and responsive"
[Sūrat Hūd: 61]

⚪ It also mentioned in the majestic plural form in the verse where Allah says:

(وَلَقَد نادانا نوحٌ فَلَنِعمَ المُجيبونَ)

"And Noah had certainly called Us, and [We are] the best of responders"
[Sūrat Al-Sāffāt: 75]

➡️ Benefits of learning this great name of Allah:

1️⃣ This name should inspire us to invoke Allah Almighty and hope for what He has, presenting our needs of this life and the next life to Him, knowing that He hears us and He responds.

Whenever a servant is true to his Lord, the Almighty Lord is true to him. So, stand in need before His ample bounty, frequently ask from Him, and admit your shortcoming with regard to His rights. And then expect abundant favors from Him. The Prophet ﷺ said, “Verily, your Almighty Lord is Modest and Generous. He is so Modest that He would not let His servant who raises his hands to Him (in supplication) be rejected empty-handed." [Abu Dawood and At-Tirmidhi]

2️⃣ The Muslim should take due care and know that Allah responds to His servants but also commands them to respond to Him. This is indicated when Allah says:

"And when My servants ask you [O Muhammad] concerning Me - indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me [by obedience] and believe in Me that they may be [rightly] guided"
[Sūrat Al-Baqarah: 186]

⚪ Allah Informs us that He responds to the invocation of His slaves when they call Him, and adds after, that it is incumbent upon them to respond to His commands and obey Him to be rightly guided.

In Islam, we don't believe in the saying "we don't owe our parents anything"

After Tawhid, Allaah commands us to honor them.

They have brought us into this world, they may not be perfect parents but we aren't perfect children either.

We still owe them respect, the best treatment, and love and even that means paying for what they need and taking care of them when they're sick—obedience to parents is obedience towards Allaah.

We are not going to be questioned about how our parents have treated us rather we will be questioned on how we treated our parents as children.

We are too focused on living our adult lives building our future forgetting that they're also getting old.

Take good care and make your parents happy while they're still around you. 🥺

"Your Lord has decreed: Do not worship any but Him; and be good to your parents; should both or any one of them attain old age with you, do not say to them even "fie" neither chide them, but speak to them with respect; be humble & tender to them and say "Lord, show mercy to them as they nurtured me when I was small." {Quran 17:23-24}

✨Five Reasons Why Muhammad PBUH Didn’t Die for Muslims’ Sins✨

Why did not Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) die for the sins of Muslims? Is not he the mercy to all?

Indeed, Prophet Muhammad is a mercy for all peoples; yet he did not die for anybody’s sin. The simple reason is that Islam does not recognize the concept of the original sin. The following points explains that further:

First, Islam, unlike Christianity, does not teach a concept of “original sin”. Adam’s sin was his and his alone; and, according to the Quran[1], God forgave both Adam and Eve when they turned to God in repentance. Accordingly they were once again restored to divine mercy.

Hence there is no concept of Adam passing on to his progeny an original sin, and therefore no need for stipulating a redeemer for such sins.

Second, as there is no original sin, every one is born into a state of fitrah, a state of natural innocence. We acquire sin later by our own conscious and willful actions. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Every child is born into a state of fitrah (or natural state of innocence).”

It’s Original Mercy…Not Sin

Third, Islam teaches that God is All-Compassionate and All-Merciful; He is not bound by the rule of a blood sacrifice in order to forgive His servants.

To assume that God can forgive only by accepting a blood sacrifice and therefore to state that Jesus or Muhammad died for our sins is not acceptable in Islam. Allah says:

{O My servants who have wronged against their souls! Do not despair of Allah’s mercy! For Allah forgives all sins; for He is indeed Forgiving, Compassionate.

Turn to your Lord repentant, and submit to Him before the torment overtakes you when you shall not be helped.} (Az-Zumar: 53-54)

Fourth, Islam teaches that every individual is responsible for his/her own salvation. Not Abraham, or Moses, or Jesus, or Muhammad can save us; they are only capable of saving themselves through God’s grace. In the words of the Quran:

{Whoever commits a sin commits it only against himself. Allah is Knowing, Wise.} (An-Nisa’: 111);

{Allah does not charge a soul with more than it can bear. It shall be requited for whatever good and whatever it has done.} (Al-Baqarah: 286);

{Each soul earns only on its own account, nor does any laden (soul) bear another’s load.} (Al-An`am: 164)

{He who is rightly guided, it is for himself; and he who goes astray, it is to his own detriment. No soul can bear another’s burden.} (Al-Isra’: 15)

Fifth, everyone, male or female, can directly approach God without any intermediary of a prophet, saint or priest. God is closer to us than our own jugular veins. Almighty Allah says in the Quran:

{We created man, and We know the promptings of his soul, and We are nearer to him than his own jugular vein.} (Qaf: 16)

{When My servants ask you about Me, tell them I am nigh, ready to answer the prayer of the suppliant when he/she prays to Me; therefore let them respond to Me and believe in Me, that they may be rightly guided.} (Al-Baqarah: 186)

So the entire concept of someone dying for our sins is inimical to the Islamic world-view or understanding of the natures of man and God. Islam beckons us all to respond to God’s message and receive His grace and salvation through faith, good works and leading a responsible moral and ethical life.

All prophets came with the same Message!

The religion that God established for all mankind is Islam, which means to submit or surrender. Islam is not limited to the revelation that was sent to the prophet Muhammad peace be upon him, but was also the message of previous prophets. Therefore, the Qurʾān teaches that previous religions, such as Christianity and Judaism, in their authentic and original forms were based on the Oneness of God.

Each prophet conveyed the consistent divine message of worshiping one God and living a morally upright life. However, the message of these prophets was lost, abandoned, or changed over time, and only parts of the original message remained intact. God sent Muhammad, peace be upon him, as the final prophet to all of humanity in the 7th century C.E. to restore the divine message of all prophets. Muhammad did not bring a new message but conveyed the same message as previous prophets. In the chapter of the Qurʾān titled “The Prophets” (Al-Anbiyā’) it states: We did not send any messenger before you except that We revealed to him that, “There is no deity except Me, so worship Me.” (Qurʾān 21:25). In this same chapter, we also find God describing all prophets as belonging to the same religion Indeed this, your religion, is one religion, and I am your Lord, so worship Me (Qurʾān 21:92).

Abraham, Noah, Moses, Jesus, Muhammad and all other prophets are considered to be one family. The Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him said: “I am the nearest of all the people to Jesus, the son of Mary both in this world and the hereafter. The prophets are paternal brothers; their mothers are different, but their religion is one.” (Bukhari) This spiritual connection of brotherhood between prophets is due to the fact that all prophets delivered the same message, but at different times to different people. Muslim scholars have stated that the above quoted tradition, prophets are described as having different mothers because their laws and practices were different. However, they are paternal brothers because their creed was the same. In other words, prophets may have had different laws concerning prayer, marriage, charity, and purification, but their beliefs concerning God, the hereafter, scripture, and morals were the same.

Islam, Judaism and Christianity share the core concept that God sent prophets to guide their fellow people. However, Islam also differs from these two faiths on important aspects related to prophethood. For instance, Islam teaches that all prophets of God were of high moral character and did not succumb to the sins their people committed. For example, the Qurʾān exonerates Aaron even though the Old Testament depicts him as someone who worshipped the golden calf. Additionally, Islam strongly rejects the deification of prophets, so Jesus is revered as a prophet of God, but not God or the son of God. At the same time, Islam recognizes that prophets were capable of human errors of judgment, but these unintended mistakes did not diminish their superior integrity.

Why so Many Religions?

“Mankind was one single nation, and Allah sent Messengers with glad tidings and warnings; and with them He sent the Book in truth, to judge between people in matters wherein they differed; but the People of the Book, after the clear Signs came to them, did not differ among themselves, except through selfish contumacy. Allah by His Grace guided the believers to the Truth, concerning that wherein they differed. For Allah guided whom He wills to a path that is straight.” (Quran 2:213)

So, you see, initially, all mankind was just One Nation, One Religion, and Allah sent messengers to us.

Some of us chose to follow their messages, and others chose to deny.

Think of The Ultimate Truth (monotheism) as a giant lake, and each faith is a river which began as pure but was later tainted with untruths.
People began to separate into different groups due to their rejection of truth and denial of clear proofs becoming evident to them from their Lord.

And the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) differed not amongst themselves until after clear evidence came to them.
And they were not commanded anything more than this; to worship Allah, alone (without making partners with Him in worship) and establish regular devotional prayers and pay the charity due to the poor; and this is the correct Way (way of life and religion). [Noble Quran 98:4-5]

And be not as those who divided and differed among themselves after the clear proofs had come to them. It is they for whom there is an awful torment.
On the Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) when some faces will become white and some faces will become black; as for those whose faces will become black (to them will be said): "Did you reject Faith after accepting it? Then taste the torment (in Hell) for rejecting Faith." [Noble Quran 3:105-106]

People lied about the revelations, changed their scriptures and abused and even murdered the prophets whom Allah sent to them.

And verily, among them is a party who distort the Book with their tongues (as they read), so that you may think it is from the Book, but it is not from the Book, and they say: "This is from Allah, " but it is not from Allah; and they speak a lie against Allah while they know it.
It is not (possible) for any human being to whom Allah has given the Book and Al-Hukma (the knowledge and understanding of the laws of religion, etc.) and Prophethood to say to the people: "Be my worshippers rather than Allah's ." On the contrary (he would say): "Be you Rabbaniyun (learned men of religion who practice what they know and also preach others), because you are teaching the Book, and you are studying it." [Noble Quran 3:78-79]

Prophets of Allah only ask people to worship Allah, as One God without partners. They would never ask people to worship them or anyone or anything else. Allah tells us in the Quran:

Nor would he (a messenger of Allah) order you to take angels and Prophets for lords (gods). Would he order you to disbelieve after you have submitted to Allah's Will?
[Noble Quran 3:80]

Man made religions
an abomination before the Lord and will never be accepted.

Do they seek other than the religious way of life of Allah (the true Islamic Monotheism worshipping none but Allah Alone), while to Him submitted all creatures in the heavens and the earth, willingly or unwillingly. And to Him shall they all be returned. [Noble Quran 3:83]

Allah will only accept true submission, obedience and in purity and peace to His commandments.

And whoever seeks a Way of life other than submission and surrender to Allah's Will (Islam), it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers.
[Noble Quran 3:85]

To believe in Allah and follow His Commandments has been the message of all prophets of monotheism.

Does Allah Come Down to the First Heaven on the 15th Night of Sha’ban?
➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖

This is mentioned in some ahadith, but there is some scholarly difference of opinion as to the soundness of those ahadith . There is no sahih hadith concerning the virtue of the night of the fifteenth of Sha'ban .

It was narrated from Abu Musa al-Ash’ari that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Allah looks down on the night of the fifteenth of Sha'ban and forgives all his creation except a mushrik or one who harbours hatred against the Muslims.” (Narrated by Ibn Majah, 1390)

The “one who harbours hatred against the Muslims” means one who has enmity towards a Muslim brother.

In al-Zawaid it says: (Its isnad is da’if, because ‘Abd-Allah ibn Lahi’ah is da’if (weak) and al-Walid ibn Muslim is mudallis.)

There is also some idtirab (weakness) in the hadith, as stated by al-Daraqutni in al-‘Ilal, 6/50, 51. He said: This hadith is not proven.

It was narrated from Mu'adh ibn Jabal, ‘Aishah, Abu Hurayrah, Abu Tha’labah al-Khushani and others, but the isnads are not free of some weakness, and some of them are very weak.

RULING ON CELEBRATING VALENTINE’S DAY
➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖

Origin of Valentine’s Day
➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖

Valentine’s Day is a jahili Roman festival, which continued to be celebrated until after the Romans became Christian. This festival became connected with the saint known as Valentine who was sentenced to death on 14 February 270 CE. The kuffar still celebrate this festival, during which immorality and evil are practiced widely.

Can Muslims celebrate Valentine’s Day?
➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖

It is not permissible for a Muslim to celebrate any of the festivals of the kuffar , because festivals come under the heading of shar’i issues which are to be based on the sound texts.

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

“Festivals are part of shari’ah, clear way and rituals of which Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“To each among you, We have prescribed a law and a clear way.” [al-Maidah 5:48]

“For every nation We have ordained religious ceremonies which they must follow.” [al-Hajj 22:67]

-- such as the qiblah (direction faced in prayer), prayer and fasting. There is no difference between their participating in the festival and their participating in all other rituals. Joining in fully with the festival is joining in with kufr, and joining in with some of its minor issues is joining in with some of the branches of kufr. Indeed, festivals are one of the most unique features that distinguish various religions and among their most prominent symbols, so joining in with them is joining in with the most characteristic and prominent symbols of kufr. No doubt joining in with this may lead to complete kufr.

Partially joining in, at the very least, is disobedience and sin. This was indicated by the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) when he said: “Every people has its festival and this is our festival.” This is worse than joining them in wearing the zinar (a garment that was worn only by ahl al-dhimmah) and other characteristics of theirs, for those characteristics are man-made and are not part of their religion, rather the purpose behind them is simply to distinguish between a Muslim and a kafir. As for the festival and its rituals, this is part of the religion which is cursed along with its followers, so joining in with it is joining in with something that is a cause of incurring the wrath and punishment of Allah.” (Iqtida al-Sirat al-Mustaqim (1/207)

He also said (may Allah have mercy on him):

“It is not permissible for the Muslims to imitate them in anything that is uniquely a part of their festivals, whether it be food, clothing, bathing, lighting fires, refraining from a regular habit, doing acts of worship or anything else. It is not permissible to give a feast or to give gifts, or to sell anything that will help them to do that for that purpose, or to allow children and others to play games that are part of the festivals, or to wear one’s adornments.

To conclude: the Mulsims should not do any of their rituals at the time of their festivals; rather the day of their festival should be like any other day for the Muslims. The Muslims should not do anything specific in imitation of them.” (Majmu’ al-Fatawa (25/329)

Al-Hafiz al-Dhahabi (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

“If the Christians have a festival, and the Jews have a festival, it is only for them, so no Muslim should join them in that, just as no Muslim should join them in their religion or their direction of prayer.” (Tashabbuh al-Khasis bi Ahl al-Khamis, published in Majallat al-Hikmah (4/193)

Fatwas on celebrating Valentine’s Day
➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖
The scholars have issued fatwas stating that it is haram to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

1 –Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymin (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked:

“In recent times the celebration of Valentine’s Day has become widespread, especially among female students. It is a Christian festival where people dress completely in red, including clothes and shoes, and they exchange red flowers. We hope that you can explain the ruling on celebrating this festival, and what your advice is to Muslims with regard to such matters; may Allah bless you and take care of you.

He replied:

Celebrating Valentine’s Day is not permissible for a number of reasons.

1- It is an innovated festival for which there is no basis in Islam.

2- It promotes love and infatuation.

3- It calls for hearts to be preoccupied with foolish matters that are contrary to the way of the righteous salaf (may Allah be pleased with them).

It is not permissible on this day to do any of the things that are characteristic of this festival, whether that has to do with food, drinks, clothing, exchanging gifts or anything else.

The Muslim should be proud of his religion and should not be a weak character who follows every Tom, Dick and Harry. I ask Allah to protect the Muslims from all temptations, visible and invisible, and to protect us and guide us.” (Majmu’ Fatawa al-Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymin (16/199)

2 – The Standing Committee was asked:

“Some people celebrate Valentine’s Day on the fourteenth of February every year. They exchange gifts of red roses and wear red clothes and congratulate one another. Some bakeries make red coloured sweets and draw hearts on them, and some stores advertise products that are especially for this day. What is your opinion on the following?

1- Celebrating this day

2- Buying things from the stores on this day

3- Storekeepers who are not celebrating it selling things that may be given as gifts to people who are celebrating it?

They replied:

The clear evidence of the Quran and Sunnah – and the consensus of the early generations of this ummah – indicates that there are only two festivals in Islam: ‘Eid al-Fitr and ‘Eid al-Adha.

Any other festivals that have to do with a person, a group, an event or anything else are innovated festivals, which it is not permissible for Muslims to observe, approve of or express joy on those occasions, or to help others to celebrate them in any way, because that is transgressing the sacred limits of Allah, and whoever transgresses the sacred limits of Allah has wronged himself.

If the fabricated festival is also a festival of the kuffar , then the sin is even greater, because this is imitating them and it is a kind of taking them as close friends, and Allah has forbidden the believers to imitate them and take them as close friends in His Noble Book. And it is proven that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever imitates a people is one of them.” Valentine’s Day comes under this heading because it is an idolatrous Christian festival , so it is not permissible for a Muslim who believes in Allah and the Last Day to observe it or approve of it or congratulate people on it. Rather he has to ignore it and avoid it, in obedience to Allah and His Messenger, and so as to keep away from the causes that incur the wrath and punishment of Allah.
