There’s a river that flows… under the ocean. 🌊
Deep beneath the Gulf of Mexico lies an underwater current called a halocline, where salty seawater and fresh water refuse to mix.
The difference in density creates a visible river — complete with banks, currents, and even waterfalls — all beneath the sea’s surface.
Divers describe it as like “swimming above a ghost river.”
