Martin Short once revealed that he nearly quit *Saturday Night Live* early in his career due to feeling like an outsider. Joining the show in 1984, Short admitted he struggled to find his footing amidst an established cast and was overwhelmed by the fast-paced nature of *SNL*. At one point, he felt like his comedic style wasn’t fitting in with the rest of the cast, leading him to seriously consider leaving. However, with encouragement from his fellow cast members and the guidance of the show's legendary creators, Short decided to stay, ultimately cementing his place as one of *SNL’s* most beloved comedic talents. Looking back, he credits the experience as one of the most important in his career, as it pushed him to grow as a performer.
