SEDLEC OSSUARY is a unique underground chapel located directly beneath the Cemetery Church of All Saints in Kutná Hora, Czech Republic. Globally known as the "Church of Bones," the interior of this medieval Gothic chapel is artistically decorated using the skeletal remains of over 40,000 to 70,000 people. Every macabre yet stunning ornament inside—from pyramids of skulls and noble coats of arms to a massive chandelier crafted from every single bone in the human anatomy—is the masterwork of woodcarver František Rint from 1870. Bannerman Castle is a majestic ruin designed in the style of a medieval Scottish fortress, standing isolated on Pollepel Island in the middle of the Hudson River, New York. Although it looks like an ancient stronghold from the outside, the structure—built in 1901 by businessman Francis Bannerman VI—actually served as a massive military surplus warehouse to store millions of munitions, cannons, and secondhand weapons. After being heavily damaged by a massive gunpowder explosion in 1920 and a devastating fire in 1969, the exotic remains of the castle walls are now preserved as a historic site and can only be visited by the public via official tour boats.
