The U.S. has launched strikes against Iran for the third night in a row.

U.S. Central Command said the strikes, ordered by President Trump, are intended to continue degrading Iran's ability to attack civilian mariners and commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

President Trump said Monday the U.S. is prepared to hit Iran "very hard" tonight and tomorrow.

Sen. Jim Banks will introduce legislation Monday aimed at ending birthright citizenship for children of illegal immigrants and birth tourists by defining them as children of "invaders" under federal law after last month's Supreme Court ruling dealt a setback to President Trump's executive order on the issue.

Banks said the proposed Citizenship Act is based in part on Justice Brett Kavanaugh's concurrence in last month's Trump v. Barbara case, which suggested Congress could amend federal law.

The bill would define anyone who enters the U.S. illegally or for birth tourism as an "invader," declare that the children of such statutory "invaders" are not entitled to birthright citizenship under federal law, and codify President Trump's 2025 executive order using that definition.

President Trump says the Strait of Hormuz will remain open as the U.S. takes over security of the critical shipping lane.

He announced what he called the reinstatement of the "Iranian Blockade," saying only Iranian ships and their customers will be targeted while all other nations are free to transit the strait.

Trump says the U.S. will serve as the "Guardian of the Hormuz Strait" and is seeking reimbursement equal to 20% of all cargo shipped through the waterway to help cover the cost of providing security.

He says the plan takes effect immediately.

Two years after the attempted assassination of then-candidate Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, a new inspector general report is shedding light on the security failures leading up to the attack.

The report says the Secret Service missed more than 100 radio transmissions from local law enforcement about the suspected gunman and received only a handful of calls and texts warning of the threat in the lead up.

Firefighter Corey Comperatore lost his life protecting his family, and two others were wounded. Investigators conclude those communication failures and other security lapses represented missed opportunities that may have prevented the attack.

President Trump says he spoke with Sen. Lindsey Graham just hours before the South Carolina Republican's sudden death.

"He sounded great, actually. He said he was tired, but he wanted to pass the Save America Act. And I said, 'Well, we're going to get it done, Lindsey. We're going to get it done. I'll see you soon.' We thought maybe we might even meet today. And then that was it," Trump said.

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth issued a blunt warning after President Trump ordered a third round of strikes against Iran.

The operation followed what CENTCOM described as an Iranian attack on a ship in the Strait of Hormuz, with the U.S. response intended to impose "a heavy cost by continuing to degrade Iran's ability to attack civilian mariners and commercial ships freely transiting the strait."

President Trump paid tribute to Sen. Lindsey Graham, calling him "one of the greatest people and Senators I have ever known," a "true American Patriot," and saying he would be "greatly missed" following the South Carolina Republican's death at 71.

Graham's office said he died Saturday evening after a "brief and sudden illness," though no further details about the cause of death have been released

Israel is reportedly warning the U.S. about a fresh Iranian assassination plot targeting President Donald Trump as tensions reignite between the United States and the Islamic Republic, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The reported intelligence would mark an escalation in the longstanding threats against Trump, who Iran has repeatedly vowed to retaliate against over the 2020 U.S. strike that killed Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Gen. Qassem Soleimani.

While overseas at the recent NATO summit, President Trump reiterated how badly he says Iran wants him dead, saying "I'm number one on the kill list."
