How would white wire be hot?
Moved into a house (built late 80s if that matters) and tested all the outlets. This single outlet in the garage showed “Hot/Neutral Reverse” and after some investigating, the white wire is carrying the charge. Nothing from black. Was this a simple mixup during original construction and can I just wire it correctly now? Anything special I should do?
