I disappeared for four months. Here’s where I actually was. 👇

Not Paraguay. Not Brazil. Not Uruguay. In my GitHub.

For the last four months I’ve gone all-in on AI-assisted coding, built a dozen apps and cut my own workload by more than half. Building software used to cost a fortune. Now it costs a $20 Claude account and a weekend.

I’m convinced this is the next five years: whether you build for yourself, for clients, or to sell as a SaaS, the people who can ship software are the ones who stay future-proof.

So I’m teaching it.

It was 2016 and I was living my best life in Bali…

I was already doing freelance marketing using my OPMA subscription model.

Remote money. Remove Lifestyle.

I was staying in Ubud.

Working out of coffee shops and co-working hubs.

Eating the world’s best smoothie bowls.

Flying my DJI Phantom 4 drone and going to yoga classes.

I was making about $4k USD a month online.

Plenty to live a life in Bali.

It was just $15/night for a decent one-room homestay (Includes breakfast).

You wake up…
Go to the coffee shop…
Get our your laptop and grind for a few hours.

Back then AI wasn’t even a thing.

We did it all by hand.

Copywriting.
Video captions.
Webpage building.

Kids today would be shocked.

But it was a fantastic time.
 Sometimes, I would rent a car and take a day trip to the beach.
Uluwatu. Balangan. Dreamland.
I’d Fly the drone.
Capture incredible scenes.

On rare occasion we’d buy some 🍄
Explore consciousness and visions of the future.

One vision came to me so clearly…

I saw that the future required us to “become” computers.

But I thought we had to use our own brains to do so.

I thought we had to change how we think.

That we had to become disciplined programs.

Now I see that we augment with AI.

We should remain as human as possible and let AI do all the work.

My experience using AI…

I’ve become 5-10x as productive using half the hours.

Last night I asked for a detailed report and plan as I went off to bed. Woke up to brilliance…  Yet the anxiety grows…
 There’s not enough time to learn everything.
 To keep up.

It’s nearly impossible to have a clear vision right now.

It’s critical to remain adaptive.

The one-person marketing agency model is my saviour.

Being a generalist is the answer right now.
