Archaeological sites that are historical heritage, art and culture, but the condition of these ancient sites began to be fragile and limited, not many people know the history and conditions so that a way is needed to maintain history and culture in all diversity. Therefore, an information system is needed to assist in maintaining existing cultural resources. Abang Temple is located in Sentonorejo, Jogotirto, Berbah District, Sleman, Yogyakarta. To reach the temple, you can search Jalan Jogja-Solo, precisely in Prambanan. After arriving at Prambanan Terminal, you are looking for Jogja-Piyungan Street, Km 8. In there, have a signboard to the right (west) with the words Abang Temple and Sentana Cave.

The integrity of the temple is no longer perfect. However, it does not mean that beauty and uniqueness are complete. Abang Temple still stands firmly on a hilltop with brick building materials. The base size of the Abang Temple is 36 x 34 meters, and its height cannot be estimated. This temple is shaped like a pyramid, with a well in the middle. In this temple, there are stairs, entering and made of white stone, aka gamping. In addition, there are some andesite stones whose function is not yet known. This temple was built around the 9th and 10th centuries in the days of the Ancient Mataram Kingdom. Nevertheless, this temple is estimated to have a younger age than other Hindu temples. This pyramid-shaped temple is called the Abang Temple because it is made of red batubata (brother in Javanese). The shape of this temple is in the form of a hill, now it is overgrown with grass so that from afar it looks similar to a mound or small hill.At the time it was first discovered, in this temple there were statues and yoni bases of the Shiva god symbol in the form of a triangle (not square, as usual) with sides measuring 15 cm.Some people consider the Abang Temple to be a treasure repository in ancient times, because it is often damaged and excavated by irresponsible people who are looking for historical treasures and valuables.
