For The Ones That Remember

This is for the ones who carry Ireland
not in a passport—
but in their bones.

For those who haven’t seen the cliffs in years,
but still dream in green and fog and stone.

For the ones who tear up at a fiddle,
say “Sláinte” without thinking,
and call strangers “friends”
before the second pint is poured.

You remember the smell of turf smoke.
You miss your granny’s soda bread.
You’ve told someone,

“I’ve never been, but I know I belong there.”
And somehow—
you do.

Every morning, you open a little email
not because you need another one,
but because it feels like
a door back to something real.
To Ireland.

To a story you’re still part of.
To a place that doesn’t forget you.

So this is for you—
the dreamers, the diaspora, the quietly homesick.
Those who’ve left.
Those who long to return.
And those who carry the island with them,
wherever they go.

We are delighted to announce that our 4th Year students, with the support of the Business Department, will be hosting the ‘Hammies Christmas Market’ on Friday, 12th December, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. here in the school.

Students—and some local businesses—will be running stalls offering a wide variety of items, making it the perfect opportunity to pick up some last-minute Christmas gifts🎁

This fundraiser is held in association with the Parents Association and the Dillon Quirke Foundation in memory of our student, Oisín Gillain ❤️

We warmly invite parents, guardians, teachers, and the wider local community to come along, support our TY Mini Companies, and enjoy a cup of tea, coffee, or hot chocolate with some festive mince pies 🥧

There will also be a raffle on the day! Be in with a chance of winning a Dillon Quirke Cork jersey and other fantastic prizes, proudly sponsored by the Parents Association. Entry is just €10!

And finally… don’t forget to wear your Christmas jumper and bring plenty of spending money — after all, even Santa does some last-minute shopping! 🧑🏻‍🎄🎄🎅🏼

Cork City Council civic reception in honour of Cork hurling legend Patrick Horgan

Cork Lord Mayor, Cllr. Fergal Dennehy made a presentation on behalf of Cork City Council to Glen Rovers and Cork legend Patrick Horgan. Also included is Patrick's son Jack, his wife Ashley and Cork City Council Chief Executive Valerie O'Sullivan.
