Huge congrats to our colleague, Eddie Halligan and his handball partner, Paul Fitzpatrick, on winning their grade in the World Handball Competition in Croke Park last weekend. Another great achievement for this very skilled and experienced pair.

Eddie is also co hosting the Journey Podcast with Martin McGovern. It is well worth a listen. The podcast grew from a desire to get learners stories out there in an effort to support others wanting to get back into education or those intending to continue their education in Further Education and Training.

Drumlinia Music Media Industry Festival workshops arrived at today! Tutors included TV presenter Mary Kennedy, acclaimed songwriter Sharon Vaughn, renowned vocalist Bazil Meade MBE (who has worked with Sir Paul McCartney, Brian May, and Tina Turner), celebrated film score composer Michele Busdraghi, WLRFM radio presenter John Keane, master guitarist James Shannon, percussionist Lil Lontcheva, trumpeter Victor Boyco, and Swedish sound engineer Peo Hedin

What are The Listening Rooms?

“Back in the early acoustic performances in the 60’s in the Greenwich Coffee Houses in New York, such as the Cafe Wha? on McDougal Street and Gerde's Folk City at 11 West 4th Street, singers including Richie Havens, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen, Paul Simon, and many others played for a few dollars to small crowds who came to listen to new songs. The performer/artist/songwriter then discovered which songs worked for them and thus unfolded the start of their careers…

An independent adjudication panel will select ten artists who will be included in the Listening Rooms, a music trail in eccentric and kooky venues throughout Cavan town on Saturday 26th October.
