Last time, I’ve honored the Haitian roots with the mighty Magnum Band. And replied with the legendary Tabou Combo 🙌🏾✨

Now, let’s explore the beautiful evolution of the genre!

This week’s feature is the phenomenal band 𝐊𝐰𝐚𝐤 ( Big Ups ) from 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞 🇲🇶.

Their 1996 release, “𝗘𝘁 𝘀𝗶 𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗮𝗶𝘁,” is a beautiful example of how the essence of Kompa was adopted, transformed, and celebrated across the Caribbean, maintaining that distinct, irresistible dance rhythm.

It’s crucial to show the breadth of this vibrant music scene! Thanks for riding this wave of musical history with us. 🎶

had the good idea to create a challenge enabling people to discover more about Kompa.
Kompa is a music genre born in the pearl of the Caribbean aka Haiti 🇭🇹
Also, following first submission that ended up being (Gouyad can be described as the youngest child of Kompa) while challenge is about 🤣…..I go with an original press published in 1983, from the legendary and mighty band called Magnum Band - Follow them here:
