Record Label & Gig Promoter
DimeStore Recordings (09-16) was a weekly live music night which showcased some of the best live acts from Ireland & abroad. The night began in 2009 when two passionate friends, one a musician, the other a sound engineer, decided they would embark on a journey to help up and coming acts spread their music. By hosting this free night, with a mixture of some established
and some unknown acts, they succeeded in enticing larger audiences to see the budding talent this live underground music scene has to offer.
“We did it because we were amazed by the quality and variety of the music we saw at festivals such as KnockanStockan, so we decided to showcase this talent regularly and watch it grow” Andy Cullen of DimeStore (The sound engineer)
“ I can’t believe it’s been four years and we have put on over 200 shows and had more than 1,000 acts perform on our stage…” Peter Pureheart of DimeStore (The Musician)
Awarded Best Live Music Night in Ireland 2012 by Music Review Unsigned (MRU), DimeStore has garnered somewhat of a cult following amongst Ireland's up and coming rock 'n' rollers and music lovers. Thanked on many LPs and EPs, the lads names have appeared on releases from such bands as The Hot Sprockets, The Eskies, Túcan, Markas Carcas, Raglans, The FitzaFrenic, Veroa and Hassle Merchants, to name but a few. DimeStore Recordings hosts a stage at KnockanStockan Independent Music Festival 26th-28th of July this year and have done so since 2010.
“We simply could not program our festival without these boys. With over 1,000 music submissions, we rely on the likes of DimeStore Recordings to be on the ground watching these bands live” Bettine McMahon, Program Development, KnockanStockan Festival.
“If Dimestore was a movie it would be 'Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves'! Because...for the good of all bands and the love of one night, they fought to keep the peace by bringing the noise!” Graham Sharpe, Knockanstockan
