From DECLAN BURKE of THE IRISH TIMES:

"Channel the Dark Vol. 2 is a collection of short stories, poetry and novel extracts, edited by Ronald A. Geobey and published in support of SOSAD, the su***de prevention charity. The tone is set by the opening story, David O’Mahony’s ‘Weighed Down’, a Kafaesque tale in which a prisoner languishing in a dungeon belatedly realises the terrible truth behind his imprisonment, but not every contribution is explicitly engaged with issues of mental health. Contributions include the hard sci-fi of Sean Richardson’s ‘Bradshaw’, Luke O’Connor’s Blitz-set and horror-infused ‘Skitter’, and Spencer Sekulin’s ‘Deathless’, a fantasy-epic about an immortal godking; meanwhile, the second half of the collection is comprised of novel extracts from Temple Dark authors such as Ishmael A. Soledad, Tom O’Connell and Geobey himself. It’s an impressive snapshot of new Irish sci-fi / fantasy, with Anthony Brophy’s ‘Lost Ballad of the Plastic Swans’ the highlight, a black comedy that envisages a hapless bunch of English revolutionaries setting out to free their country from the new national entity of UKÉire."

We're delighted to announce that two literary giants, bestselling authors Eoin Colfer and Stuart Neville, will be joining us at the Otherworlds Festival in Wexford town this June.

☆ Eoin Colfer is one of Ireland's most celebrated authors and the creator of the internationally bestselling Artemis Fowl series. Born in Wexford, Colfer's books have sold more than 20 million copies worldwide, been translated into dozens of languages, and inspired readers across generations. From fantasy adventures to science fiction and even an official continuation of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, his imagination has helped shape modern speculative fiction.

☆ Stuart Neville is widely regarded as one of the finest crime and thriller writers working today. His award-winning debut The Ghosts of Belfast (The Twelve in Ireland) became an international sensation, winning the Los Angeles Times Book Prize and earning acclaim from readers and critics alike. Known for his dark, atmospheric storytelling and unforgettable characters, and now for his dark horror tales, Neville has become a major voice in contemporary Irish fiction.

From magical masterminds and fairy technology to haunted histories, crime, mystery and the darker corners of the imagination, these two incredible authors represent the very best of Irish storytelling.
