Ingredients for Nigeria meat pie

For the dough
• 4 cups all-purpose flour (500 g)
• 1 tsp baking powder
• 1 tsp salt
• 250 g margarine or butter
• ½ cup cold water (add gradually)
• 1 egg (for egg wash)

For the filling
• 300 g minced beef (or chicken/turkey) I used meat
• 3 medium potatoes (diced small)
• 1 medium carrot (diced small)
• 1 small white onion (finely chopped)
• 1 tsp thyme
• 1 seasoning cube (optional)
• Salt & red pepper to taste
• 2 tbsp vegetable oil
• 2 tbsp flour (to thicken filling)
• Enough water or beef stock
