Day 4 of hot rod drag week 2025: last checkpoint.
Car is running stellar. Nice and cool and much smoother now that the input and output shafts of our transmission aren't all wobbly and s**t. lol. I didn't event realize we had this problem during pre-DW testing. Now that we have a happy transmission in the car I'm like "Doh! It's been shaking for a week now." See yall at on Friday.

Day 4 Hot Rod Drag Week update: last night the car developed a vibration whenever I took my foot off the gas. As we made the drive through the mountains from Maple Grove to Cecil the vibration got worse until it was constant. We thought the bushing for the output shaft in the transmission was trashed because we grabbed the driveshaft yoke and could move it up and down but today at the track when we tore the transmission apart I realized it was worse than that, and the main shaft in the transmission was moving up and down and forward and backwards. We're pretty sure the bearing on the main shaft are trashed. anyway long story short, we couldn't make a fast pass today but we did drive up to the starting line under power and break the beams. So we handed in a 20 second time slip which means we are dead last in our class again after moving up to third but we are technically still a part of the event and we have every intention of limping the car back to Maryland international raceway for day five which is tomorrow. A real nice guy named Josh Hoak whom I just met in a gas station parking lot randomly offered to drive three hours to go get us a stock transmission so our current plan is to slam a stock transmission back in this car and hit the road about 10 PM
tonight. With any luck, we will see you guys tomorrow in Maryland.
