L💡 The First of our DJ Spotlight Series...the incredible - Laynee
Female DJ from Dublin, Ireland breaking the mould.
'With over 26 years experience I like to play mixed genre sets with melodies & interesting breaks & riffs. I have an eclectic mix of music in my collection but I generally gravitate towards the uptempo beats in new & oldskool tunes. I'm a vinyl lover so I like to mix with both digital & vinyl when the opportunity arises. I have played major venues such as Hangar, O***m, The Guinness Storehouse, The Button Factory, The Soundhouse & Wiley Fox & Berlin/Pawn Shop bar supporting 90’s legends such as 808 State, Shades Of Rhythm, Joey Beltram, Billy Nasty, Leeroy (Prodigy), Mr C, Judge Jules, Anne Savage, Capella, Danny Gould, K-Klass & Rozalla amongst others. I have played MASS festival twice & Day of the Dead festival on The Chapel stage. I also host my own monthly show called ‘Vibrations’ on Phever.ie and a weekly show on Mondays on Biggest Disco Radio called ‘Spektrum’. Currently I hold residencies with the Flashback, Re-Jen & Soberbeats collectives.'
'When I was asked to play for SBC, it felt like perfect timing for me because I was tiring of using alcohol & drugs as a social crutch. It's a work in progress but for me it's the right direction & I'm grateful to be a part of this shift in the "social norm" of clubbing.'
