Please show your support by tunning in to TG4 tonight at 9:30. The hooded men case should be heard. A representative from the club's will be speaking from a medical/scientific point of view. Hopefully we can get justice for the hooded men.

We rarely comment on negative reviews however we feel it's our duty to call out Kathleen Martin for slandering our organisation. T.W responded to her accusations as such.
"Dear Kathleen, I have absolutely no idea where you have gotten this notion about The 1916 Clubs. Only last week we had a lecture on the hooded men and British state sanctioned torture on Irish citizens, to claim we only have a narrow window of interest in Irish republican history between 1916-1922 is ridiculous. Furthermore to insinuate that we in the clubs support Free state atrocities during the civil war for example the Ballyseedy massacre is so unbelievably offensive and quite frankly stupid it doesn't warrant a response. As I control the social media for the clubs I usually hold my tongue as we have many lectures on history, politics and ethics- emotive topics where I believe everyone is entitled to their opinion even if sometimes that opinion isn't grounded in facts. But when you openly slander us on a public domain over something that is so clearly untrue that if you had bothered to scroll down our Facebook homepage you would be confronted with so much evidence to the contrary it is astounding. With that Ms Martin I bid you a good day and offer you some parting advice; please be aware of who you are insulting before you post. GRMA."

A chairde,

The debate is starting at 6pm sharp on the 4th of July. If possible we hope the people attending this talk could arrive at 5:45pm for the following reasons.
1. The speakers wish to start as soon to the allotted time ( 6pm ) as possible.
2. We've also recieved an email from a differently abled citizen who wishes to attend the debate. This would be easier if the bulk of the audience was seated prior to escorting this gentleman into the theatre.
We look forward to seeing you all there.
