Planning on doing Medicine? Read this.
The HPAT is CHANGING from 2027 — and it WILL affect you.

🧠 If you’re sitting HPAT next year, here’s what you need to know:
❗ HPAT is now worth LESS
➡️ Dropping from 300 points → 150 points ()
📈 Leaving Cert matters MORE
➡️ You now get FULL points (up to 625) — no more adjustment ()
📊 New total system
➡️ Max goes from 865 → 775 points ()
💡 What stays the same?
✔ You STILL need HPAT
✔ You STILL need 480+ LC points
✔ You MUST sit HPAT in the same year as your CAO ()
⚠️ What this REALLY means:
👉 Your Leaving Cert performance is now MORE important than ever
👉 You can’t rely on HPAT alone to “pull you up”
🔥 Bottom line:
If you want Medicine — you need
📚 STRONG LC + 🧠 STRONG HPAT
Don’t wait until 6th year to take it seriously.
