MEMBERS OF GYM, LEFT HIGH & DRY 😲

Member's of Basecamp Fitness Gym, Ersons Lane just off Catherine Street, have been left high and dry following the unexpected closure of the gym last week without notice or warning to its gym members.

Many members of the gym have paid for a full year's membership, while others have only recently renewed their €55 monthly membership. We've been told by members of the gym, that they've been trying to cancel their membership but to no avail, as the owner Aidan McMenamin, has not responded to phone calls, emails or WhatsApp messages.

The landlord of the building informed some members, that the owner had not been paying the rent for some time.

Changes to the 303 bus service from November 23rd 🚌

Three current bus stops in O'Malley Park are to be removed from its service. The stops at Southill Health Centre, Castle Oaks View and Country View will be removed, with 3 new stops being added.

The new stops at Galtee View, Mountain View and Sunny Heights will come into effect 23rd November.

However, a meeting about the changes to the service will take place on Monday 17th November, where Cllr. Sarah Kiely is to voice concerns by residents in the area who'll lose a service, if their stops are removed.

4 businesses in the city to closedown 😥

Silkes is to close after 30 years in business. The decision was made by the shop following the retirement of its manager.

Also this week Glitzi Bitz on Cruises Street announced its to close its city store and move to online sales instead.

The Imperial Bar, Upper Careys Road will close also, following the sale of the landmark pub for €450,000 to a land developer, connected with the massive housing plan for the Colbert Quarter area.

And Crew's pub at the top of Thomas Street, recently announced its closure, following on from the councils decision to dismantle a parklet outside the pub, which was key to its business popularity, the council did not inform the pub about its removal.

Excellent news for the Calvert family 👏

An evidence file that was put together by Mike Daly on behalf of the Calvert family for GSOC, who handles public complaints against the Gardaí. Today, GSOC have confirmed to the Calvert family, that the evidence is admissible and they are now opening up a full criminal investigation into the Gardaí involved in handling the late Savannah's case.
