Another excellent launch took place last evening for Tom McElligott’s new novel 'Sense of Place', published by Savoy Editions', the fiction imprint of the Limerick Writers' Centre. The event drew a warm and enthusiastic crowd, all gathered to celebrate Tom’s latest work, a moving and sharply observed exploration of identity, memory, and the fragile threads that bind us to one another.
Dominic Taylor, director of LWC spoke about their new imprint, Savoy Editions, and their plans for the future.
The book was beautifully launched by author and workshop facilitator Madge O’Callaghan, whose thoughtful remarks set the tone for the evening. She spoke to the novel’s emotional depth and its quiet power: a story of listening, of being seen, and of finding meaning in the most unexpected places.
The capacity crowd was treated to a reading by Tom himself, offering a glimpse into the world of the novel and the riveting voice that drives it. The room fell into that rare, attentive hush that only a strong piece of writing can command.
'Sense of Place' is now available directly from the author and from local bookshops, including O’Mahony’s in Limerick. It can also be purchased online at www.limerickwriterscentre.com http://www.limerickwriterscentre.com
